Anyone care to fill an embarassed fan on the whole leash thing? Boston last night was my 3rd PJ show and they are just an amazing band.
However, I'm embarassed to say that I don't know about this Leash legend. Is it just that they play it so rarely?
Apparently hasn't been played since 95...it's not big deal, just one of those rarities that some people like to have whipped out at a show...it was pretty cool to hear...
Yea....As soon as the opening cords were played EVERYONE around me went nuts....We were kinda talking before the show about if they would play it with the soundcheck last night and everything. By the way the guy who put his arm around me during Leash , that was the gayest thing that has ever happened to me
I can't believe you got to hear Leash played live. Gayest thing that ever happened to me, my drunken friend stuck her tongue in my mouth in the front row of RFK stadium during a PJ Harvey set. That's a gayer concert moment.
shit man, that's funny. Hope it didn't cut into your Leash enjoyment!!
The two guys in Cleveland in front of me on the floor nearly impregnated each other. Never in my life have I ever seen two 20 something males enjoying an entire concert with arms around each other. I felt like Finn in the Sopranos last season when he showed up to work early.
There's Pearl Jam, The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, Robert Johnson......and then everybody else.

no... the lamest thing ever was the couple next to me
fuck the setlist ... the nerd herd really has to relax on "ordinary setlists"
the last 2 nights were amazing... obviously you weren't there
it's the crowd AND the band AND the setlist ... with the first 2 being most important
i'll be in camden sunday night and i'll be shocked if it's anywhere near as good as boston
Boston 2 was SICK. I agree: If the Philly shows match Boston 2 I will be impressed. But they are so tight this tour, anything can happen. I keep thinking each setlist I read is the best of the tour. There is only 1 thing keeping me from going to NJ as well: my nephew's 1st bday. Philly 1&2 marks the end of my tour. It's been a hell of a ride and I can't wait to see what they pull out after I'm off the ride.
Bright eyed kid: "Wow Typo Man, you're the best!"
Typo Man: "Thanks kidz, but remembir, stay in skool!"

i expect them to match boston... all the talk here will ensure that... the word will be "we can't let boston beat us"
and i'm fine with that
i'm just pissed i didn't get night 1 tix... that's ok though.. the wife would OD on PJ

this is about he funniest thing I have heard all day!!!!!!!!!!!
All I could do was whisper to myself right after indifference ended was "drop it...drop it....just drop it"
RVM was absolutely flooring. The crescendo, the strobes, Mike up on the amps, the crowd energy going through the roof. It was a religious experience.
I agree 100% about the religous experience thing. I think that really sums up how I felt. In 20 years I think I will still remember that experience with RVM.
There's just so much damn energy between the band and the crowd. You can't even explain it you really have to experience it.

2004: Boston II

I thought they really tore it up on rearviewmirror last night.
rearviewmirror was AMAZING. that is always one of my favorite songs live, but I think last night's was the best I've ever heard it. Between that and SOLAT, the first set practically had me on my knees. I honest came extremely close to passing out during rearviewmirror I was going so nuts. and I was on the isle in front of mike so I was just mezormized when he was up on the speaker. So freaking cool. Oh and the mention of insignificance- I love this song live too, and I also think this was the best it has ever been played. ever since binaural came out I always thought that would be an amazing song live, but was always slightly disappointed in it, mostly from the crowd who never seems to get into it, but it seemed like everyone was into last night. Just an amazing first set.

no it isnt. that's a HOTTER concert moment. two chicks with their tongues in each other's mouths is not gay, it's a gift
im with lou though, this obsession about setlists is absolutely ridiculous and insane. what matters is the interaction between the band and the crowd. if the band is on fire and the crowd is responding, they could play the greatest hits album from start to finish and it would be incredible. if the band is off and the crowd sucks, they could play lost dogs start to finish and it would suck.

Told him to "get outta my fucking face"!

This must have been the same couple I saw having a screaming match at the harp. pearl jam and dating don't mix.
Hopefully they saved Dissident and Last Kiss for you.
