I didn't know about these. Maybe they were a response to a poster I remember on the AMT once starting a thread telling Ed to just shut up and sing. (A contradiction in terms, I know. But there's a lot of that bullshit on AMT, in case you don't know).

I check the forums pretty much every day and the majority of the time I find it to be quite a positive experience. I enjoy it here, there are some cool people and it can be fun and informative at times. But every now and then something will come up that makes people really start to lose their shit.

As hard as I try to resist them I am always drawn to threads like this one like a moth to a flame. As pjsteelerfan said in the second post in this thread:

I really couldn't care less whether they play the Oracle show or not. They could play 10 of them for all I care. Apart from the fact that it's a show that I won't get to see, it will have no impact on my life at all. It's really not the beginning of the end, as some on here have been claiming.

I was lucky enough to see the two Manchester shows in June and honestly they were 2 of the best shows I've ever seen them play. I'm sure most people that saw the Euro shows will agree that their shows now are as good as they have ever been. The PJ fans that are lucky enough to be at this conference are going to have a great time when they play. The non-PJ fans will either like what they hear and become fans or walk away and get on with their lives.

They are a rock band. Granted, they are a really fucking good one, but they are still just a rock band. I didn't start following PJ because I believe everything that they believe, I started because 'Alive' blew my mind. I don't need to hang off every word that Eddie says and treat it as gospel. I'm a grown man, I have my own beliefs. I am here for the music.

At the end of the day...

I still really fucking love this band.

Do you really think eddie should be living in his truck from the vs. days still? .... Btw, if they had the ten club ticket stuff on oracle products we wouldn't have had ticket problems!!!!! Keep on Rocking in the free world, unless it's the oracle conference I guess...

Except I don't think that too many people wish they could attend this show. Possibly the first time and hopefully the last time that will ever be said in 10c!

I would not attend this show, no way, no how.

Besides without you guys in the crowd, it really isn't a true PJ show

I'm done with this thread, it's a downer, it is what it is. Love PJ's music, can't wait for Missoula. I hope to see pictures posted to the Group Hug thread and this time I will be in them. Night all.

I saltue you and agree with every bit you posted here! Its a rock band, not life or death. I think we're all guilty of putting PJ and EV more so on a pedestal. I'm attracted to the band because of the music, not because of the beliefs. I don't agree with every single word Ed says and nor should you or I or anyone of us.

I think you're right. Its just an event they are playing, it's not like they've killed anyone. Now that probably would make me stop liking the band!

Now that a few days have gone by and I've had time to let this sink in, I have to go with PJSoul's point of view. I do feel disappointed and a bit sad about this turn of events, but I'm not going to let it affect my love of the band and their music. And if a US tour is looming on the horizon, I'll be there!

I was angry as hell when i first saw it but then the batman reference hit me and i had to laugh.
None of this is a big deal. They're an independent band, the money from this gig probably helps pay for recording or charities or any amount of stuff. i'd pay to go if i could.
