I think especially in the south there is a link to hating obama and him being black.. surely you see that.
Do you ever visit the South?
The vast majority of whites do not hate blacks in the South, we live side by side,
    those days long gone.
So many yankees now live in the South also, it is actually more segregated in
other parts of the country. I don't see color at all knowing and loving
like I never did in the North.

I think you should come visit and see...

Not liking our President would be more founded in party for sure...
Take notice of how well the black candidates have done and those that hold office.
I might have liked, like many, the opportunity to vote for Cain until his very personal
life was made public and ruined it for him.

so off topic but anyway... it's important to see color because that is what makes us different in a good way and what makes is who we are.
Funny I feel just the opposite, the color of our skin does not make us different,
I think once you love someone you just don't see unimportant things like that.
And it takes just one to love to realize this. We are all just people.

Do you visit the South? because it did sound like stereotyping...
assuming people here are prejudice and hate because of color.

    Levels of cultural competency
    1. Destructiveness: Attitudes, policies and practices destructive to other cultures; purposeful
destruction and dehumanization of other cultures; assumption of cultural superiority; eradication of other cultures; or exploitation by dominant groups. The complete erosion of one's culture by contact with another is rare in today's society.
    2. Incapacity: Unintentional cultural destructiveness; a biased system, with a paternal attitude toward other groups; ignorance, fear of other groups and cultures; or discriminatory practices, lowering expectations and devaluing of groups.
    3. Blindness: The philosophy of being unbiased; the belief that culture, class or color makes no difference, and that traditionally used approaches are universally applicable; a well- intentioned philosophy, but still an ethnocentric approach.
    4. Pre-Competence: The realization of weaknesses in working with other cultures; implementation of training, assessment of needs, and use of diversity criteria when hired; desire for inclusion, commitment to civil rights; includes the danger of a false sense of accomplishment and tokenism.
    5. Competence: Acceptance and respect for differences; continual assessment of sensitivity to other cultures; expansion of knowledge; and hiring a diverse and unbiased staff.
    6. Proficiency: Cultures are held in high esteem; constant development of new approaches; seeking to add to knowledge base; advocates for cultural competency with all systems and organizations.

    so wait....

disrupting healthcare town hall meetings = fine

interrupting someone campaigning for the 2nd highest office in the land by asking questions about the centerpiece of his budget = bad

    i think i got it...

Yeah, I'm getting a lot of - "this is something Liberals Do. but every once in a while a conservative does it too." Bullshit. Those staged health care reform protests were disgraceful.

a good number of the republicans and tea party on here felt that that was completely appropriate behavior at the time. now it is an outrage...

Honestly, I don't think I've ever been for heckling or interrupting a speaker.

    Now, if it's part of a Q&A period, that's a different story.

But regardless, this person stepped up on the stage and very well could have been going after Ryan. I'm shocked she wasn't tackled.

Yeah, the cop just stood there for a few seconds before realizing, "Oh shit, it's up to me to stop her!".

Just stop insinuating that it's ok for one side and not the other. We all agreed the heckler's actions were inappropriate in this case.

I have no problem with police taking obnoxious hecklers out of a crowd. Heckling a candidate at a campaign stop regardless of how much of an asshole the candidate may be looks pathetic and shouldn't be encouraged. Let the asshole speak and indict him later.

Hecklers in the crowd of his first solo appearance.

He points to them and police drag them away. He then accuses them of not being from Iowa, where he was.

He later went to ChickFilA to support "free speech."

Hecklers have gotten out of control these days. Whatever happened to respect and respectfully disagreeing?
