The Real Me, Baba O'Riley, and Reign O'er Me all are amazing in concert. I'd go with the Who covers as I don't think Fuckin' Up or RITFW have near the same energy to get the crowd as into it as Baba or Reign does.

I would like the band to stop playing Baba and RITFW so much. Maybe two to three times a 20 show tour. Make them more special to hear.

What Pearl Jam needs to do is write some songs that could be show closers. They haven't written a song that can close a show since Vitalogy. They have written great songs, but none can close a show out like Alive, Porch, RVM, Even Flow, or Better Man. So they resort to covers, these awesome covers.

I always thought Parting Ways or All Those Yesterdays would be a great show closer. I'd certainly rather hear them over a cover anyway... ;)

Tough call, think I probably prefer Baba right now, because I've heard it less. Good to get RITFW a few times on this last tour though, particularly enjoyed the Manchester version. Baba in Copenhagen was pretty epic though.

As for them writing new closers, dunno, I like the closing with Ledbetter on last nights/one off's. It's just the way it should be. Would love to hear the band do Parting Ways though.

Yeah, nice one Dimi.. ;) I quite fancy Corduroy or Even Flow too. Either would be a guaranteed high octane finale!!

Of the Earth is a good example. Write some songs that Mike and Stone can jam on and trade off solos that can fill 6-8 minutes at the end of the show where the crowd can just rock out (before they bring out Ledbetter, Indifference, Parting Ways, etc...).

When I saw Paul Westerberg and His Only Friends he covered a Partridge Family song and it kicked ass. It would be fun to see PJ do something interesting like this- not as a joke but as a tribute to a good oldie.

I agree with this. The Who are a bit like Dylan for me, I prefer cover versions of their songs to the originals. I love it when PJ play Baba, it just kills.

I love The Who covers. I saw Love Reign O'er Me twice and The Real Me once so only need to see Baba O'Riley... From the Neil songs I only saw RITFW 4 times so time for some change ther, hehe

Love Reign O'er Me is definitely the best cover I have ever heard and I think Boom agrees with me as he really is awesome at the opening!! :o

I agree. I think Baba O'Riley gets the crowd more excited than any song in the PJ original or cover catalog.

I know they’re not popular but I’d love to hear sitting by the dock of the bay and walk with me.  Probably not as closers.  If you’ve never heard they’re worth a few minutes of your time.

I was lucky enough to catch the 10/2/2004 PJ show that closed the show with Neil , and some of Pegi and Frampton with Harvest Moon, AATWT, Act of Love, Cortez the Killer, RITFW.. so gotta say Neil Young!

Depends on which ones. I'd always take The Real Me in any set. Don't care much for RITFW or Baba at this point.

But frankly, I think I like the Pink Floyd covers the best.
