My dad did a lot of "menial" jobs after coming to the US and serving the country.

    So did my mother.

So did I - because it was a fine learning experience and taught me that nothing in life is free (and if it is, it ain't worth a whole lot).

Cut grass, take out the trash, trim the bushes, do the dishes, clean the bathroom......

Can we please not segregate those who do and don't want to work, no matter the level of such work, between those here legally and not. The desire to prosper and the will to do whatever it takes isn't limited to citizenship.

    Ever seen "Dirty Jobs"?

Bring home 1/2 the troops and put them on the border and fence it proper!

Then, every 100 miles have a "Compassion Gate"! That gate is a 3 day class for up to 20 immigrants per day, per gate! That class is to teach the immigrant about America and what our expectations of them are while they are working on their citizenship. That class teaches them about our way of life so they can embrace it and appreciate it. That class teaches them that if they work hard and do it the right way, they can live the dream. They get their work visa and are put on a bus to the city or state that needs them. After 2 years they can become a citizen if they pass all the requirements.

The simple solution that is bi partisan and non partisan! Everyone wins!

Because Central Americans need to be taught what hard work means?

Fear4freedom, have you ever been south of the Rio Grande? Be honest. Have you ever set foot outside of America?

After seeing parts of Montana, Nevada, Washington and Oregon, guess where we saw the greatest number of anti-Obama signs?

Regardless of your position on illegal immigrants and what should be done about the issue, the Administration refusing to enforce existing laws would seem to be a unconstitutional power grab.

Here in Texas, illegal immigrants abound. Most are very hard working, some more so than many citizens. There is also a significant criminal element, and many use social services and I would consider them a drain.

Unfortunately, neither of the 2 parties want to do anything about it - Republicans want the cheap labor for businesses, and the Democrats want the Hispanic vote. So neither side is doing what should be done- securing the border, ending birthright citizenship for illegal aliens to prevent pregnant women from sneaking over the border so that their child automatically is a US citizen, and developing some type of guest worker program so that there is a legal way for these folks to work in the US. Just another way that the 2 party system is failing us

Ahhh. This explains the whole ripping me off thing then. Fuck over the Canadian. I will run into this guy at a show. I'm going to make it a point. Or he could just pay me and be done with this.

I'm not making any judgements here about something I read second hand but I'll say this, differences of opinions aside, if one of us owes another we should always pay up.

Yep. Hates the "Leftists" but happy to let someone else subsidize his concert expenses.
