And I would not have been surprised to see either Almora or Strop moved. Plus the whole fiasco of Zobrists personal life..."A smart monkey doesn't monkey around with another monkey's monkey" - Darwin's Theory0

We'll scratch Zobrist off after he retires this off-season. Hopefully Russell will get the strikethrough as well.

Loved Sammy! Still do. Brought a lot of excitement to the North Side when there wasn't much to be excited about. For a long time.

Yea, Sammy is still a touchy subject with Cubs fans and I'm not sure I understand why. Since baseball, I feel like maybe Sammy has bigger problems than the Cubs. For that reason, among others, I tend to give him a break for whatever of his actions that I may have taken umbrage with."Society..you're a crazy breed. I hope you're not lonely without me.."0

The Chicago Cubs agreed to a deal with veteran catcher Jonathan Lucroy, sources told Jon Heyman of MLB Network.
Lucroy was officially granted his unconditional release from the Los Angeles Angelsearlier Wednesday. The Angels designated him for assignment last week.
The Cubs are in desperate need of catching help after All-Star Willson Contreras landedon the injured list Monday with a hamstring injury that will sideline him for four weeks. Once Contreras went down, the Cubs were left with just two catchers - Victor Caratini and Taylor Davis - on their 40-man roster; both backstops are currently on the team's major-league roster.
Lucroy, 33, slashed .242/.310/.371 with seven homers and 30 RBIs in 74 games with the Angels this year. He missed a large portion of July due to a concussion and fractured nose he suffered in a home-plate collision.

I asked Meat Loaf his thoughts on the A's series and this is what he said:Star Lake 00 / Pittsburgh 03 / State College 03 / Bristow 03 / Cleveland 06 / Camden II 06 / DC 08 / Pittsburgh 13 / Baltimore 13 / Charlottesville 13 / Cincinnati 14 / St. Paul 14 / Hampton 16 / Wrigley I 16 / Wrigley II 16 / Baltimore 20 / Camden 22 / Baltimore 24 / Raleigh I 25 / Raleigh II 25 / Pittsburgh I 250

I asked if he would put money on: the bullpen becoming lights out OR the offense being consistently good, to which he replied:

Still not going to win a road series this weekend. Been over 2 months."A smart monkey doesn't monkey around with another monkey's monkey" - Darwin's Theory0

I’ve accepted the cubs for what they are. A very mediocre team. That’s okay. Put them in any other division and they’re several games out. Cubs = a very average team.0
-
Yep. The division is “so competitive” because everyone is mediocre except for the Pirates, they just suck. But they were up to mediocre level before the AS break. And I hate to say it but, at this point I feel STL, MIL, & CIN would all represent the division better in the postseason than the Cubs could.Star Lake 00 / Pittsburgh 03 / State College 03 / Bristow 03 / Cleveland 06 / Camden II 06 / DC 08 / Pittsburgh 13 / Baltimore 13 / Charlottesville 13 / Cincinnati 14 / St. Paul 14 / Hampton 16 / Wrigley I 16 / Wrigley II 16 / Baltimore 20 / Camden 22 / Baltimore 24 / Raleigh I 25 / Raleigh II 25 / Pittsburgh I 250
