Didn't he tell Maddon he was ready as much as he needed him in game 7? Thought i remember him saying he could go 3 innings. Maddon messed up pulling Hendricks early for no reason. Still it's pretty bush league to say you can do something, fail at it, then blame someone else since you sucked. Good riddance.Degeneratefk said:

Just got the World Series Film bluray yesterday & watched it last night. Honestly, I'm kinda disappointed in it. I mean, it was cool to hear the players thoughts and all, but I expected it to be a little more behind the scenes than it was and more about the season-long journey. At least that's what the description on the back of the case leads you to believe. It's pretty much just a game by game color commentary of peak moments in the series. Only a handful of Cubs are in it - Zobrist, Bryant, Rizzo, Lester, Hendricks, Ross, Fowler, Chapman, Theo, & Tom. I think Grimm had a line or two. They quickly glossed over Montero's series winning RBI as if it were an afterthought. Vince Vaughn narrating was a nice touch, though.Star Lake 00 / Pittsburgh 03 / State College 03 / Bristow 03 / Cleveland 06 / Camden II 06 / DC 08 / Pittsburgh 13 / Baltimore 13 / Charlottesville 13 / Cincinnati 14 / St. Paul 14 / Hampton 16 / Wrigley I 16 / Wrigley II 16 / Baltimore 20 / Camden 22 / Baltimore 24 / Raleigh I 25 / Raleigh II 25 / Pittsburgh I 250

would've been cool to have a extra commentary track by a drunk Bill Murray.HesCalledDyer said:Just got the World Series Film bluray yesterday & watched it last night. Buster Posey, the consummate professional (and my favorite non-Cub baseball player)
http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/ct-cubs-world-series-look-ahead-2017-20170215-story.htmlCatcher Buster Posey has moved on after his Giants blew a three-run lead in the ninth inning of a 6-5 loss in Game 4 of the National League Division Series that allowed the Cubs to avoid a Game 5 against Johnny Cueto and instead advance to the NL Championship Series.
"That was our goal," Posey said last month in regards to forcing a fifth and deciding game of the NLDS at Wrigley Field. "Everyone wanted to see that game. I would have loved to have been a part of Game 5. I wanted to come out on top, but it would have been a fun game.
"Hats off to those guys. They had a heck of a run. I don’t think anyone could complain about that World Series. Even if you weren’t a big baseball fan, you had to be entertained with the way that turned out."Star Lake 00 / Pittsburgh 03 / State College 03 / Bristow 03 / Cleveland 06 / Camden II 06 / DC 08 / Pittsburgh 13 / Baltimore 13 / Charlottesville 13 / Cincinnati 14 / St. Paul 14 / Hampton 16 / Wrigley I 16 / Wrigley II 16 / Baltimore 20 / Camden 22 / Baltimore 24 / Raleigh I 25 / Raleigh II 25 / Pittsburgh I 250 -
A friend said opening day tickets were 1500 nosebleed seats. Makes my game 5 world series tickets look like a bargain at 950.The worst of times..they don't phase me,
even if I look and act really crazy.0 -
Got tickets for Cubs vs Cardinals Saturday Sept. 16 and Sunday Sept. 17!
In my 25 years of fandom, these games will be my first at Wrigley. I've seen more concerts at Wrigley than games... That begins to change this year.0 -
Getting close to that time of yr to troll my favorite thread!www.cluthelee.com0

I'm so excited for this season. Many of my other teams have won championships in their respective sports, but baseball and the Cubs are my first loves. It's really strange to go into a season with a feeling of relief. No more "next year" or "this is the year." No more 1908. Just looking forward to fun baseball this season.Star Lake 00 / Pittsburgh 03 / State College 03 / Bristow 03 / Cleveland 06 / Camden II 06 / DC 08 / Pittsburgh 13 / Baltimore 13 / Charlottesville 13 / Cincinnati 14 / St. Paul 14 / Hampton 16 / Wrigley I 16 / Wrigley II 16 / Baltimore 20 / Camden 22 / Baltimore 24 / Raleigh I 25 / Raleigh II 25 / Pittsburgh I 250

Heyward's easily got one of the worst swings I've seen in baseball for a long time.
So awkward. Nothing fluid about it at all.0
