And like I have always said about sports.
When the season is over they will all get on planes, with their 25 year old drop dead gorgeous wives, and go vacation on some tropical island for 4 months.

While us fans sit at home making ourselves crazy spending each day, pissed off, because our team fell apart.

The players forget about that last game in about 48 hours.
exactly! and don’t forget about the checks they’re cashing.

I always said I could die happy if my Giants ever won a WS. they did, in 2010, and I was diagnosed with cancer in 2011. I said, “lord, I was only kidding!” anyway, the good feelings I had from 2010, 2012 and 2014 are long gone. this past month has been torture….the Giants went from like a 90% chance to make the playoffs to being toast. like your Cubs, they weren’t going to win a series anyway, but it still (irrationally) hurts. your boys might still sneak in. in a way, wouldn’t it be better if their season could just be over? looking at the standings, you’ll probably be in agony for a least a few more days.

And no it would not be better for my Cubs season to end today.

Sitting in my friend James garage, known as garage-a-palooza, is a good time.
He has a big screen set up, surround sound, we have a double door fridge filled with beverages, its quite a little setup.
Going there, watching the Cubs blow 2 straight wild card games would still be better than not making the playoffs.

I've always wondered about that but more so in basketball and hockey if there are some players who deep down are relieved not to be in the playoffs or exit the postseason after the first round so their summer can start earlier.

Hate that the Marlins got the Braves right after they won the division and the Braves basically didn't show up.

Sounds like getting tickets to game 5 of world series, then retiring as a fan on top was a good decision for me

Milwaukee is kind of underrated in terms of stadiums.

Me too, when I came out to Chicago for Lollapalooza in 2007, first thing I did was get picked up from O'Hare by my friend a huge Mets fan to see them beat the Brewers 12-4 up there.

  • I need to get up to Milwaukee. I keep thinking about doing some ballpark trips and just keep putting it off.

I get a mini bat from each stadium. So far I don't have a lot but I do have one from Dodger stadium.

And like I have always said about sports.

“dorky athletes and their hot WAGs” would make a good thread but the mods might not approve.

A few years back I remember the golfer who had the incredible hot wife. Pretty sure the rumor was she was having an affair with Tiger. They ended divorced.

I guess Boras couldn’t get his $200M for Bellinger. Looks like another “prove it” year. If he does prove it, he’ll opt out for more money.

I think the damn opt outs always make it more of a win for the player. my giants have plenty of guys who had good years and left and plenty they were stuck with.

but it’s most likely better than him just leaving.
