What a thing to say about Walt's cancer. That was wild shit.

Great episode though... I feel something big happening between Skylar and Walt. With all that tension, how could it not.

Does any show create the kind of tension that Breaking Bad does??? Countless times my heart has been racing while watching this show.

Added insult to the cancer comment and then smoking in the house in, what I perceive, is a base covered in any way that Skylar can help speed up the cancer's return.

Wow, I hadn't thought of that! I definitely see those scenes in a new light now.

Best episode of the season so far (and one of the best of the series IMO).

My favorite line of the episode was in the bedroom scene when Skylar mocked Walt (and brought out Heisenberg) by saying "I thought you were the danger".
Still can't believe I met Mike Mccready at the Guggenheim and got a pic with him!!!!!

That line was awesome. It's amazing how much these 2 characters have changed over the past year since Walt was diagnosed. I have a feeling that this isn't going to end well for Skylar. But at the same time, it's hard to imagine Walt taking out his own wife even considering the monster that he has become.

    "Nothing stops this train."

He's manipulated his "friend" Jesse into breaking it off with Andrea. He poisoned Andrea's little boy Brock.

At this point, Walt is such a changed man who is so consumed by his new endeavors and ego that I honestly think the only peoplehe wouldn't put at harm for his own benefit and safety are Junior and Holly (and I've even been reading some wild theories online about him being the cause of a possible death for Holly). Plus, Skylar has given him a lot of material to build up some animosity as he has for her. Based on the events of the last episode, I'm not even sure if Walt would be able to honestly say that he still "loves" his wife.

That might be a bit too big of an assumption of the character, but Walter White is clearly a changed man from the one that got into this business simply to build up money to take care of his expected-to-be-widowed wife and fatherless children after his cancer diagnosis.

He says he's in it now because he's broke, but my feelings are that even if Walt made up the money he lost and then some, he wouldn't hang it up. He's looking at being a head-honcho, and I think that feeling of power gives him a high he'd always been looking for in life and now he has it. He's Heisenberg and he enjoys it. The whole inclusion of the hat in the last episode definitely shined a light on the fact that he's really made some strides in his transformation from Walter White to Heisenberg.

I think you hit the nail on the head.
He is finally in a position of power and he likes it. His entire life he was under achieving or playing second fiddle.

He was just that chemistry teacher who got shit on by punk ass students. He's grown a pair and now he's doing the shitting. The amount of fear he has now compared to the amount he had when the show began is vastly different.

So what do you think caused Skyler to "change" between seasons? In Season 4 she was on board with Walt and seemed to be excited about buying the car wash and laudering the money. This season, she hates Walt and is mostly in bed crying. Is it because he said "I won" after killing Fring? That's when she first looked shocked...perhaps that's when she realized what her husband was capable of. However, Fring was threatening to kill her and the kids..she should be happy that walt won. Walt should have told her that the old man was a willing participant and the other victim was an assasin. Is it becasue of what happened to Ted and that Walt didn't seem to care? Perhaps after realizing that they were in danger at the end of last season, she knows that someone else in the game might eventually try to come after her, walt, and the kids.

IMO - she is now in too deep. The fact the father of her children is a killer, jumping back into production with no thoughts of the danger it brings into the house, the fact her brother is DEA and she can't control Walt any longer - the wheels are spinning too fast for her - Walt terrifies her and the thought of her kids (and her) getting whacked overwhelms her...
Long way away from being married to the dorky chemistry teacher...
    Again, just my humble opinion

Yeah, I think the fact that her husband blew up a drug lord might have opened her eyes as to how deep this thing really is.

Yep...that combined with when she saw how fucked up Ted was as a result of what she had done.

She didnt change between seasons. There marriage has long been rocky. She kicked walt out for quite awhile, her affair with beneke, and this season she's been terrified of walt.

As for a turning point i think it was clearly last seasons I am the one who knocks speech.'

I think their marriage has always been pretty rough going. I think this season its more out in the open, and i think currently its beyond repair.
  • plus i think its not as simple as just one single thing. She's clearly experiencing some sort of mental break. The cause of which is complex and involves just about every storyline in the show

Yep agree..I think seeing Ted in the state he's in and scared shitless made things "real".
Show #13 was a lucky one for me....
