I dont know how I can go back to french's.. I can feel my mustard budget increasing :D

How much is a reasonable amount to spend on mustard each year?

 I think it depends upon how much sausage (and other meat) you like to eat.

In that time and place, I could apply good mustard. It's that much better... I don't eat yellow mustard. If I have a hot dog and a choice between yellow mustard and ketchup, ketchup goes on. With a brat if I have the choice between yellow mustard and ketchup, neither goes on. :)

Mmm...hotdogs with ketchup and mustard. That's good eating right there.

yellow mustard, ketchup, relish and a bit of siracha sauce is what goes on my hotdog (if is not a slaw or chili cheese dog that is)-a prope mustard is wasted in that recipe

but I agree that a country style dijion works better with a proper brat or sausage

Oooh! They also have a shop with lots of German varieties  We found Löwensenf and Alstersenf in the international section at Meijer's, but it's kind of expensive and Cav has a major mustard intake  I'm going to cook eggs in mustard sauce tomorrow night - mmmmmh!
