My thoughts go out to those of you enduring that heat wave!

A few years after I moved back to CA from WA we had a July with something like 27 out of 31 days over 100. Yuk.

As one of my nephews used to say, "The heat is hot."

I decided to stay home from work instead of braving the 103 heat on the walk home. I walked for about 20 minutes in 93 degree heat yesterday, and I felt a little nauseous.

I walked on my porch at 9pm tonight and it was thick heat-I'm so happy I took the day off.

I probably won't walk outside until Sunday.

It is not as hot here as further South, but we had 85+ and I do love it. When it gets 90+ everyone up here complains, but I like it. We spend so much of the year being cold, that I am happy to sweat and feel hot for a short time.

Electricity went out; no air conditioning. The storm was crazy and whipped through causing lots of chaos. Luckily, I have a twin near Baltimore, and she picked me up this morning to stay with her. Quite a few traffic signals out. I was feeling sorry for all the people who don't have an option B. It is overwhelming to be without AC right after the hottest June day ever recorded.

If you are in NOVA, I think you all are as affected as Montgomery County.

There are some things about Texas that I'll miss when we move. The heat is not one of those things.

Agree! Summer is always way too short for me. I'm a happy camper in the heat.
To me it's so much nicer to walk out into 90+ and sun than 10 or below and snow.

    Oh, shut your mouths! :nono:

The week-long stint of heat you're experiencing is 5 months of our year in Texas. Summer lasts April - September in Texas, and typically we experience 3 months of 100+ degrees every day.
