You think? I dunno...I'm still on the fence about it. I have to admit that I've really only given it a couple good listens, there was so much good new music this year that I haven't really had time to let it soak in. But I'd agree thus far I'm a bit underwhelmed. Groo Grux was much better imo.

As a drummer, Will, you should appreciate Carter Beauford. The guy is a beast and the early stuff is crazy good. Stray from the radio hits. Check out The Stone, Rhyme & Reason, Rapunzel, Halloween. Go watch some of the Listener Supported videos. The last album was surprisingly good. New album is a disappointment. Boyd is just taking up space at this point. If he's not gonna finger pluck the violin, give the man a shaker or something.

haha. I got a lot of shit in 2009 saying grux was better than backspacer.
i'd have to agree with ya there.
im hoping PJ"s follow up to Backspacer isnt as bad as DMB's follow up to Grux.
I just skipped DMB at Mohegan Sun, which I never thought I'd do. But the new album is balls and their setlists are lame. At least w/ PJ there is always hope for some randomness to the setlists. But If we keep getting backspacers for the next few albums, we'll just be that much farther away from Riot Act and prior, which means good random songs will be few and far between. And Im pretty sure we'll still be hearing the same "staples" then as we do now. Ugh. I dont even like to think about it. :(

You think? I dunno...I'm still on the fence about it. I have to admit that I've really only given it a couple good listens, there was so much good new music this year that I haven't really had time to let it soak in. But I'd agree thus far I'm a bit underwhelmed. Groo Grux was much better imo.

I totally agree with this statement. And twisted, I skipped DMB last week in Chicago too, which I haven't done in YEARS. Bummer.
