Great shows but...Anybody else dissapointed? Too much "Greatest Hits" repeats nearly every show, not enough diversity. Im not neccessarily looking for rarities, as Im looking for the boys to play different setlists every night, with different songs spanning their entire career. I have no problem with them doing what they always do with a new album--playing the new ones alot, but the other songs that have been filling setlists have been way too repetitive. Lets see some original setlists! I thought Detroit was on the right track, but the boys rehearsed for 6 weeks this time around, and considering how much they tried to vary the sets in 03, I so far have been dissapointed.

I agree with you but they know the average person is only gonna go to one show at most two or three, there not like the Dead(FLAS), they'll always play there hits, although they could spread them out a little thinner, one advantage I'll give there setlist over the Dead or just about any jamband is when you read the setlist from a show the night before the show your going to you know for a fact that you won't get to hear any of those songs, and with PJ's setlists they might play 10 songs you wanna hear the night before and the night you go you could still hear 8 or 9 of them so in that way there is an advantage(unless your going to 20 shows),PJ have been doing this a long time and know what the fans want(Leash),I don't think there thinking about the 500 people that go to every show its about the other 19,500 people there.
I'll end now but your are right they could mix it up a little more.
I need a fix 'cause I'm going down

    and now Boston has LEASH!!

Now I envision either who you are or No way request next.

It appears that Pearl jam really do listen to their fans!! So I would so love it if they play the south with a two night stop in Dallas. I'm only asking Please. The South misses pearl jam.

I got the honor of attending the Grand Rapids show and I dont think I could have asked for a better set list, you got your norms with the flow and alive but still mixed it up too with leather man and around the bend. If I could choose a couple they would play would prolley be Lukin and Habit but without doubt I would see Blood over anything! I do think PJ is doing a great job of making the majority happy with the setlist, A lot of people come to see them and they do what they can so everyone leaves happy with what they just wittnessed which I was......

  • quit your bitching!!!!!! this msg pit has so many f-ing complainers it is ridiculous!!!!!! SHUT YOUR MOUTH!!!

Hey Im not bitching. Just stating my opinion. If I think the bands playing great so far.

One person's response to my first post was asking me if I expected them to do what they did in Boston in 03, which was play a completely different setlist every night. This is exactly what I was hoping for. Now please dont get me wrong, I love the new album and fully expect the boys to play a bunch of those new songs every night. I love that and understand that--they do it every tour and its great. I also understand that they are probably going to play Corduroy and Even FLow every night. So what, that leaves another 20 or so songs left in a standard PJ concert? I expect them to delve into their catalog, and play different songs each night, with engaging song selection.

Again, Im not neccessarily asking for rarities, I would just like to see them mix it up. Anyone who has seen a band like Phish or the Dead (gasp, did someone just mention them on a PJ message board?) knows exactly what I mean when I ask the band to mix up their sets. New night? After you get done playing new songs and Corduroy and Even flow, get crazy.

    Not complaining.
    Matt and I are friends.

It's sooooooo early in the tour. We have a long summer ahead. As the tour progresses, the set lists will begin to vary much more. They are just getting warmed up.

what he said.. god arent we greedy . as I have said many times pj still play many more different songs to most bands even if they arent mixing it up like they have in the past.

for the love of god people, we put them under a microscope so much. let the band play what they want on stage. I'm there to see pearl jam, and I notice that other setlist always look better than the one i was at. but there catolog is so goddamn big it's impossible for them to please us all. let's just apreciate the fact we get to see a great band play live!!!

    yeah right?!
they played 89 Songs so far.
keep being disappointed, lock yourself in your room and be quiet.
isn't there a point when a fan can stop demanding and complaining?!
they haven't played a show under 2 hours, with approx 30 or more songs per set what else do you want?
there aren't only freaks, as Ed said in Albany, but also people with their 1st PJ concert.

I get so sick of this.... Yeah, they should shelve the crowd pleasing "Even Flow" for "Education" and confuse 90% of the crowd? They have to get the crowd into it, and 90% of the crowd don't post here, ain't in the Ten Club reading setlists every night.... They are real people who need to be entertained. I would be pissed off if PJ neglected most of the crowd-thereby making an energy-less arena.

AMEN. Just cause a hardcore fan gets a hard-on hearing some obscure b-sides, doesn't make a good show. It kills energy for most people who don't know them, while the 10 clubbers are lovin it, everyone else is sayin, "WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?"

So I'm up for hearin Alive every night. I can see people growin tired of Evenflow, but how can you beat that solo and that crowd response to Alive? Awesome. I still want to hear Evenflow every show myself. I went to Albany and LOVED IT. New stuff, classic stuff, and rare stuff, what a perfect mix.
