Mo Green's right eye is not convinced.
I think we have a new fantasy sports team name, folks. Mo Green's Right Eye
He got his comeuppance. No doubt about that.

It turned like Hendry going to the Feds. We don't want this thread whacked like Billy Bats.

Goodfellas is the best movie ever made. Period.
    this
    Better than Godfather? Tough call.
In my humble opinion, yes. But as someone mentioned they are two very different movies. I just think Goodfellas is a bit more fast-paced. While I certainly dont agree, I can find how some people may get a bit bored with The Godfather. And by the way, if you havent read Wiseguy by Nicolas Pileggi (sp?) you should check it out. It's the book on which Goodfellas was based.

I was just about to see if anyone read the book before he.who.forgets commented on it. Good book. I wonder why they didn't include the sports betting in the movie?

It would be cool if they could edit Casino and Goodfellas into a 6-hour epic movie!

I haven't read it, but I've been meaning to check it out. I think the reason I've waited so long is because both The Godfather and Wiseguy were on my list due to my love of the films, I picked up The Godfather first, and it was one of the worst books I've ever read. Seriously, all that shit about Lucy and her over-sized box was a chore to read through.

I didn't finish The Godfather book. Wiseguy is more oral, like the PJ20 book is.

Henry Hill: You're a pistol, you're really funny. You're really funny.

Tommy DeVito: What do you mean I'm funny?

Henry Hill: It's funny, you know. It's a good story, it's funny, you're a funny guy.
    [laughs]

Tommy DeVito: What do you mean, you mean the way I talk? What?

Henry Hill: It's just, you know. You're just funny, it's... funny, the way you tell the story and everything.

Tommy DeVito: [it becomes quiet] Funny how? What's funny about it?

Henry Hill: [long pause] Get the fuck out of here, Tommy!

Tommy DeVito: [everyone laughs] Ya motherfucker! I almost had him, I almost had him. Ya stuttering prick ya. Frankie, was he shaking? I wonder about you sometimes, Henry. You may fold under questioning.

He learned the 2 most important lessons in life:

    1) Keep your mouth shut

Yeah, I can't really make that call myself. Very different movies, apples and oranges. While The Godfather has a beautiful score, I love the classic rock soundtrack of Goodfellas. I can't hear the coda of Layla without thinking of the body coming out of the dumpster, or Sunshine Of Your Love without seeing that calm yet murderous look on DeNiro's face. And whenever I hear Monkey Man I always check the sky for helicopters.

Gimme Shelter always makes me think of when he's running around all tweaked out being followed by the helicopters.

Maybe I'm wrong, but if people are planning to murder you, they are no longer "friends".
