I'll find out. I know it also needs an oil change, and my brother does that on his own. He can be a prickly guy, and I know during the week he doesn't have a lot of time on his hands. I'll keep at it ... maybe something can be worked out yet (but I wouldn't hold my breath. Like I said -- prickly).
Apparently, he just needs new pads and to turn the rotors ... that's an easy job! I volunteered to take care of all that, and the oil change, but given his occasional crapapple, prickly nature, he may still deny me (he hasn't responded back to the offer I sent two hours ago).
