    I spoke to Tester's office and was told that these are not Meet & Greet. They can not verify the seating location, but they would confirm that they are not behind the stage.

    What a "value" the meet and greet tix turned out to be, in hindsight I wish I would have sprung for the $500 dinner tix... oh well I think just the show is going to be awesome everything else is gravy.

    it's really my only expense for the trip. points for both flight and hotel so only cost once there is booze, food and merch.

    i was lucky to even know about it. checked my phone right after it was posted in the middle of a 16 hour non-stop drive. called my wife and she said "don't be an idiot, it's a once in a life thing!" gotta love her.

    As selfish as this sounds, it's good to know the original number of VIP guests for the meet-and-greet won't balloon by another 100 concertgoers.
    To quote the 10C from Newsletter #8: "Please understand we have a lot of members and it is very hard to please everybody. If you are one of those unhappy people...please call 1-900-IDN-TCAR."

    Is this true? Got this pm from a friend about the meet & greet ..

    "We haven't gotten the final word yet but right now it seems unlikely that there will be the opportunity for the band to sign things or take individual pictures with guests. I'm sure as the date grows closer we'll have a better idea of how the meet and greet event will work."

    I'm not sure what to expect at the meet and greet but it'll be awesome no matter what it is and I thank the music gods I was able to get m & g tickets with three of my best friends. I was trying to think of what will likely happen at it though and this is what I came up with;

    1) I've never been to one of these but 180+ people in a room with the band mingling through the crowd seems highly unlikely. Even with senator level security there would probably be too many issues to manage this.

    2) I don't have anything signed by anybody and I guess this would be cool but not sure what something signed really means? "Hey look at this thing this person once held for 5 seconds...," Having the band sign a crap load of stuff a few hours before the show seems unlikely as well. And this would take forever.

    3) Did I miss something? I thought it said something to the effect of "a meet and greet with Jon Tester, Jeff Ament and friends" (not the band specifically). Maybe we get to meet Jeff's buddies from Montana? Maybe members of the crew? Mudhoney?

    4) Photos with the band seems unlikely - that's a lot of photos for 180+ people and that's going to take forever to do as well...

    5) Talking to the band members - what do you even say? Maybe someone else has great questions for them but I'd probably say something they've heard a million times or I'd just thank them. Can't imagine how many requests they'd get for play (insert song here) or play (insert location here)...which can get pretty disrespectful at times, no matter what they do people just want more and more...

    6) A brief intro of Jon Tester followed by a 30-45 minute acoustic pre-set - basically a small fan club show. This seems like it would be the easiest for them, make the fans there ecstatic and Jon Tester gets the undivided attention of the people there for a few minutes. I saw PJ open for themselves in Toronto in 2009 when the opening act couldn't get across the border (each individual member came out and played a couple songs solo), and they've done this before as a band playing an acoustic set in Boston.

    I hope that's what it is and think this is the most probable scenario. Anyone else have any thoughts/ideas/comments?

    I think it said "members of the band."
    This show, another show, a show here and a show there.

    I'm not sure what to expect at the meet and greet but it'll be awesome no matter what it is and I thank the music gods I was able to get m & g tickets with three of my best friends. I was trying to think of what will likely happen at it though and this is what I came up with;

    1) I've never been to one of these but 180+ people in a room with the band mingling through the crowd seems highly unlikely. Even with senator level security there would probably be too many issues to manage this.
