Set in a huge city called Bustle....hence the name, Battle for Bustle. Earth-ish....but not necessarily on Earth.

Yup...was quite happy to read the rumors of this on Bleeding Cool.com yesterday A.M. It appears that they will also be using Gaiman's "Books of Magic" characters in "Justice League Dark."

Holy crap - I was at SDCC all weekend, and saw no mention of this. It must have been played at the Vertigo panel on Thursday that I skipped to go watch Rifftrax instead.
"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

I picked up a couple trades of Brubaker's run on the Immortal Iron Fist this past weekend. I pirated them when they were first released, but they were so good I had to buy a physical copy finally.

No one in comics stays dead forever. I think it is a bold move by Marvel. Give it a year or so, he will come back in a massive crossover or something

The suits in the licensing department will make sure that the real Spider-man is back sooner than later. 8-)

I resurrect this thread with good intentions:

I am seeking advice and recommendations for comic books to get a 7 year old boy who hates reading into comic books. He likes comic books and superheroes but nothing more specific than that. I'm a little bit weary of just randomly acquiring batman or spiderman or superman comics because I'm not sure if there are issues that serve as starting points etc etc, and I'm also not sure what would be considered 'age appropriate'.

Case in point: The only comics I ever read are by Jhonen Vasquez, so naturally when I saw JTHM I very nearly picked those up for this kid.

    Please, help :D

Batman has just started it's new story arc after dealing with the death of Robin, Bruce's son. Before that was Death of the Family story arc and that may have been a bit gruesome for little kids. It was the return of Joker after having had his face cut off at the beginning of the New 52. So Joker has his dried up face stapled to his head. Joker tries to prove to Batman that his allies make him weak and that they come between the love of Batman and Joker. An awesome story arc on how crazy Joker is and what Bruce goes through to fight crime on his own terms and not breaking them for Joker.

Spider-Man is surprisingly really good, but Peter Parker is dead and Dr Oct has possessed the body of Peter, along with his memories.

Deadpool is not a kids comic.

Those are the only mainstream heroes i follow. DC and Marvel both have ratings on their comics. Most of the superhero stuff has a T rating but i'm sure they have stuff for younger kids. Not sure if it is still running but i think there was Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane that was geared towards younger kids a few years ago. Probably some series still like that out there, maybe one of the Teen Titan series or X-Men.

I want to start reading TMNT but i just dont have the money. IDW or whoever is publishing them now just started last year or something with issue #1. They looked good and the mini series and one shots seemed cool but im just lacking the money to follow yet another comic. If it is IDW they have been doing awesome work with the GI Joe line, which really makes me feel like im probably missing awesome TMNT stories.
