A UFC fighter lost $130,000 payday because he tested positive ... for weed.

    :fp:

UFC has one of the biggest pot heads and drug user, Joe Rogen, as their spokesman!!!!!!

Joe probably sold him the weed!

Good point about Rogan, yet if he is not announcing it is just not the same.

Didnt see it live but saw it today. I am glad he got knocked out the way he did. Silva is an amazing fighter, probably the best ever, but his bullshit antics in the ring piss me off. I think its great that he got knocked out while taunting. He should be humiliated for being knocked out like that. Think of all the kids in Brazil that he let down because he wanted to be a clown. Now I heard he doesnt want to fight anymore.

Supposedly there will be a rematch on Dec 28th. I hope Weidman wrestles him to the ground and then gets a ground and pound TKO. But honestly I also would not mind a Silva win setting up an epic tie break match.

Does anyone know of a place showing UFC 166 near the Barclays Center?

Wouldn't mind checking it out after the PJ show!

I just saw the reply. That sucks! Good thing Weidman won that first round or else the fans really would have been screwed.

  • man, that was hard to watch. i hate it when fights are lost that way. silva has nothing else that he needs to prove to anybody. he is quite possibly the best fighter in ufc history. he has made a lot of money in his career. he does not need to come back and fight. though i am sure if anybody could come back from this it would be him. but it would not be for a very, very long time. those tibia fractures are no joke.

on a side note, i am really getting tired of rousey. you won the fight. be gracious in victory and shake her hand for fucks sakes.

Brutal seeing Silva go down like that! One of the worst fractures I've seen.

I truly think Weidman would have won a decision anyway, but it sucks that we will never know. As for Rousey, I think Zangano will beat her.

i think weidman was ahead for sure, but i hate the fact that we will never know if spider was capable of pulling something off. weidman seems to have silva's number. weidman has to feel pretty bad now, because people are always going to speculate whether or not he could have beaten him again.

i hope rousey loses. i liked her at first, but her schtick is getting old. she is almost as douchey as those idiot diaz brothers that she runs with. ALMOST.

I didn't know she associated with them... But now that you say it , it makes total sense. Tate said some insensitive things to drive sales up. Get over it Champ.

i have a feeling rousey is going to go all carano on us. she will lose the belt, disappear for awhile, then start showing up in movies and never return to fighting.

but come on, she is a champion. she on top of the women's mma world. it is time she acts like it and acts as if she is worthy of the hype she gets.

  • i don't know what tate said about rousy's cronies/family, but if she got personal on her, i can see rousey's issue with shaking her hand. she did say in the post fight interview that she respects her as a fighter and all of that. i don't have any problem with that. but yeah, she needs to be beaten. by an arm bar. snapped in fucking half.

  • i just can't see silva coming back. he's 38, he'd be out probably 2 years with that injury, and he held the title for nearly 7 years, and his heart didn't seem in it the first time he fought weidman. the sheer amount of work and heart it would take to come back from this would be difficult from someone at 25, never mind silva at his age with nothing to prove/accomplish.

now we'll have to wait and see if GSP comes back.

yeah silva should just hang 'em up, start a gym somewhere, and take cameos in movies from time to time or something like that.

i am in sports medicine and i do not know this, can i guy fight with a titanium rod in his tibia? is it legal, or would it have to be removed? if it has to be removed, add another 8 months or so to the healing/recovery time.

now that i think about it, i think silva is done. such a shame he had to go out that way.

yeah, it's not exactly the cinderella story ending everyone was hoping for for the greatest of all time, but in a few years, no one will remember how he went out. he'll be remembered for all of the great fights and finishes he had. like that front kick to the jaw knockout.

I can't stand rousey. Waiting for the day that someone knocks that sour puss face out. She's white trash. She can take a punch, was thinking maybe just maybe Tate might knock her out. She made some contact but that cyborg man rousey took it.
