Your concert photos were great but the ones that really like were the ones with the scenery and the hills and the ocean.
Those came out really good. Looks like a beautiful place.

    Glad you had fun

Its called the battery on signal hill in St. John's. A lot of history there from back in the 1500's approximately and onwards. John Cabot sailed here from Bristol back in 1947 and discovered the "new found land" where we live today. As you can see in some of the pictures, there's a narrow entrance way into the st. john's harbour conveniently called "The Narrows" and has been noted as the most fortified port in the world back in the day. You could probably throw a rock and reach the other side of the narrows. Alot of history here, definitely worth seeing....but come here in the summer if you do! haha.

Awesome pics!! i've always wanted to go to the east coast, so beautiful and the people are so awesome! thatnks for sharing those and your ones from PJ!

not to be a stick in the mud - but i think John Cabot sailed long before 1947 (i realize it was a typo, but im a canadian history major and cant help myself...sorry i dont know the exact date) :)

did you know that there is a world heritage site in NFLD where there was a Viking settlement? it would have been sometime just before 1000 AD...( so Columbus wastn actually the first european on North America) not sure where exactly but its a park and you can tour through it and such, i've always wanted o go and see that, would be cool to check out :)

but yeah do not go in the winter... it gets pretty wild out there! :)

  • Yeah i must say the pictures are awesome. Being from here you tend to take the natural beauty of the place for granted....I still enjoy the view from Signal Hill regardless how many times i've been there. Thanks again for the pics and come back again!

  • Great pics, thanks for sharing! I actually have an amazing pic. of downtown St. John's from signal hill, I took through my window when I stayed at the Battery (that white building just under cabot tower) a few weeks ago - I don't know how to post pics here though :(

  • What's the story with the chick up on stage?
  • beautiful photos!! :)
  • I can see my old home in one of these pics, awesome. It's nice to see the murals...when I was little living there, we had two favourite walls we spray painted...stayed on there for years.

Great photos of the city and the band, oh how I wish I'd been there.

thanks so much for sharing these.
One is too many and a thousand never enough
  • sounds and looks like you had a great time. i was jealous after halifax
  • What's the story with the chick up on stage?

Long story....basically this chick's boyfriend (now her ex-boyfriend) had tickets for them to go to the show and he dumped her basically. So she couldn't go because the dude was taking another chick to the show....so they were at K Cafe (i assume) getting breakfast and apparently Eddie over heard this chick telling the story what happened (pretty convenient actually) and approached her. He offered her VIP passes to the show and brought her up on stage....he made the dude feel like shit i'd say. Eddie had one arm around the chick and he said that "this could be you in the other arm!"...something like that. I wasn't at that show, but i've heard the story several times and Eddie actually explained it to us Sunday night and made an apology to buddy because he was a HUGE Pearl Jam fan and it killed him to hear his idols diss him like that....and someone was holding a "LIAR" sign in the front that Eddie noticed as well when he was telling the story which apparently was saying that the chick was lying about what happened....she may have deserved what she got for all we know and this dude was getting shit on by his hero's! Eddie's suggestion to buddy was 1 "Choose your hero's carefully" and 2 "Don't fuck around on your woman man!". Pretty cool!

Sorry for the novel....should've warned you to pack a lunch for that one!

  • What about the picture where Eddie's climbing up the chords...that dude in the front row of the seats with his hands on the railing looks like he's so pissed about something.

He's like, "well, I guess if you squint he kind of looks like Jeff Gordon, this concert ain't so bad afterall"
there once was a funny quote from a funny poem about a douchebag where this sentence is now.
