Oceans was my White Whale. I campaigned to hear it at every Philly show for years. It never happened. After 40 shows I heard it in Columbus. I can tell you that it was worth the wait to finally hear Ed start a show by counting... One of the best moments of my life. There are people out there that it took more than 40 to hear it, and some who've seen more 40 that still haven't heard it. So 20 shows is nothing, but keep up the journey!

I'm only at 10 and I'm already complaining .

I figure they have to play it in Philly eventually.

And if memory serves me correctly, Oceans and Of the Girl have never opened any MSG shows, so maybe they will be the next duo to do so.

yeah there is no chance that i will stop going :) and i have been super fortunate to see many - many songs rare songs in my 19 shows, thanks to Alpine last year, 3/4 of the Spectrum shows and a few lucky breaks along the way. Hell i have seen Push me, Pull me - Help, Help and Ghost all 2x's .... Pilate 3x's and i saw Arc open a show, so i am certainly not complaining at all. But it will be sweet like you said when i finally do hear it. Shit i have the 2nd verse of Indifference tattooed on my arm and i have yet to hear it as well so that may even be a bit sweeter.

Keep your streak alive and get a different opener -- I say Long Road.
Kinda thinking that one of the early posters on this thread may be correct though and that they play 'hits' to try and keep the rap crowd enthused.
(I hope the rap crowd thins out so all of the folks up front are die-hards and we can have a blast!)

    40 shows...pshh.

It was the first song I ever heard them play live! :D

They opened Maryland Hights, MO with it in 1998.

Oceans or Long Road would both extend it and I'd be very happy!

I've heard of this happening. I'm not sure if you were lucky or not. Could you possibly understand what you were hearing at the time?

 I'm sure it counts for the people that attended!

    Oceans contain water.
    Water is consumed by people.
    People also eat food.
The best food is meats and cheeses.
A great meat and cheese dish is a Cheesestake.
Cheesestakes are very popular in PHILLY.

Unfallable logic that they will play Oceans in Philly .

Just missed some in CA when I lived there and was bummed. My buddy went back to the store where they had a few and they were gone. I told him he could drink the beer, I wanted to keep a bottle as a souvenir.

I'm not that big of a drinker, and I wasn't really actively looking..
Actually you could argue that I'm not a drinker at all and just have the occasional 1
Stupid medication :x Anyway, yeah, if I was in a liquor store I looked, but I didn't really care that much ;)
