I already had tickets to both MSG shows for later in the week, and couldn't take off work for the Tuesday show. I should have just manned up and gone and then slept in work the next day  :x

Man, you should've taken off. You missed the best show, out of those 3> :D

I've used every ticket for a show i've had.

    PJ20

whats my prize for the best PJ concert fail

i didn't go cause my buddy's mother had a major stroke a few months before it and cause of the tropical storm the week of PJ20. i was without power for 5 days and just felt shitty that whole week leading up to PJ20. power came back on thursday and planned everything that day. woke up friday morning for my flight and collapsed a few times and felt dizzy on the way to the bathroom to shower. guess the stress of doing everything last minute got to me. i was only gonna go cause it woulda been a cool road trip with my "bro".
Ron: I just don't feel like going out tonight
    Sammi: Wanna just break up?

I have seen pj in europe, australia nad the states, so I've done gone ok.

But gutted to miss the O2 London show in 09. I had been made redundant at the time and could only afford Manchester the night before.

Had a run of bad luck from like '98-'05 where I would have something come up every time they'd come though whatever town I was living in... It was almost comical how many times I missed them

    Recent regrettable misses.

Never had tickets, but I still can't believe I didn't go see the Pearl Jam/Red Hot Chili Peppers/Smashing Pumpkins show while I was in school. Unfortunately, it took me another year to become the Pearl Jam fanatic I am today.

Was talking to a workmate today, and he said he had a ticket for Queen, in Aberdeen - Scotland, way back when they were playing smaller venues, but got sick and couldn't go. he said it was his biggest regret, as far as music is concered.

only time i've had a ticket to a gig, and couldn't make it was Airbourne at the inverness ironworks, because my car broke down the day before the gig, and i didn't have enough cash for the travel. but was no big deal.

Buddy of mine and his girl drove the Boston, Camden, NY, Boston then Hershey stretch, decided they were done and drove home, giving me his Holmdel tickets. I got very ill the morning after Hershey and gave the Holmdel tickets to yet another friend.

Had tix to Lolla in Miami, 1992. Woulda been first time seeing PJ. How-eva...my mom wouldn't let me go, because she thought it was more important for me to help her secure our house for this little thing called Hurricane Andrew that hit the night after concert. So pissed at the time, but looking back, moms are always right. Hurts me to admit it!

    St. John's Newfoundland 9/05

I had just had a baby so I took my neice to Canada to be a "nanny" since I couldn't leave the infant home.
Halifax was awsome, then we flew to Newfoundland.
Since there was a night off btwn shows I let her go out on the town. She was 20. Drinking age in the U.S. is 21 so she hadn't been able to drink in a bar, in Canada it's 19.
She's just supposed to go to the hotel bar for a few beers but ends up hookin up w/new friends and heading down to George St, getting totally shitty and not getting back till 5am.
My kids are up and jumpin around the room at 6am & she's not well.
Long story short -by show time that evening she was so hungover & sick her skin looked green.
There was no way I could feel good about leaving her with the kids so I had to bag the show.
Ran down to venue and gave away my ticket.
Went back to the hotel and sulked.

The one that bugs me is that I missed Vancouver '09.

I moved to Edmonton for a few years so I wasn't close, but I'd seen every Vancouver show since '98 including the commodore show in '00.

We didn't know there was a Vancouver show, so went to Seattle with a friend of mine. Since we both went from Alberta it took effort with flights, rental car, hotels etc... Then they announced the Vancouver show well after we sorted it all out. It seemed like such a big effort to switch it all around. He definitely couldn't do it, I could of it, but it would of taken some serious effort.. so we opted not to go.

    They played Breath! :(

That one's one of the few left on my list that I really want to see that I hadn't gotten to see yet.

    Breath, Sonic Reducer, Oceans....

It would of cut down that list to 2 :(

how could i not remember this, 1993 it was. and i had tickets for skid row at edinburgh playhouse, and Alice in chains at Glasgow Barrowlands, both the same week. and my boss who was usually okay with me going to concerts put his foot down this time, and said i could only go to one, so i struggled and picket skid row, and sold my alice in chains tickets, thinking i'd get to go next time. :(

at least i had seen them before al beit supporting alice cooper on their facelift tour.

    Not PJ but......
Neil Young about 35 years ago. Was going to be the first time seeing him and I was so excited. Lost my ticket on the way to the venue  My friends obviously went in and I ended up listening (well... making out some sounds) my ears glued to the side door by the stage.

Toronto 2009. Couldnt afford to buy tickets when they went on sale, figured i'd get some through a ticket drop or something as the date grew nearer. Tried ticketmaster everyday (EVERY) probably 5 times for the month leading up to the show, and spent the entire day before and day of hte show trying to get tickets (that werent outrageously priced) to no avail. Turned out to be a pretty unique show and one I wish i'd made it to......i joined the 10 club that night and vowed never to let it happen again. Cannot complain though, as another fan on the boards here gave me a FREE ticket to toronto 1 this year (and neil came out) and i won the 10c lottery on night two (row 10). The disappointment of missing the 2009 show isnt even on my radar after the incredible luck i had on this past run through town.

Randall's Island - 1996. My first fan club tickets (ordered through the mail). Was 6 months pregnant with my now 15 year old. It was very hight risk and could not consider going when it was general admission and was not guaranteed a seat. Was able to sell them to a fellow fan but I blame my son to this day for missing that show! He's made up for it since then - let us celebrate his elementary school graduation in 6/08 at MSG (his first show).

First show would be Pensacola, FL on 3/9/94. They were on the bill with L7 and one other band I can't remember and it was a Vote For Choice show to show their support for abortion advocates. I didn't actually have tickets but I lived in Mobile, AL which is about 1 hour away. I wanted to go so badly, but my dad was (and still is) a staunch conservative and he wouldn't let me go.

Second show would have been 7/4/95 in New Orleans. BUT, that summer tour got canceled and the date was rescheduled for September 95. Unfortunately, I went away to college that August and could not afford to get a plane ticket down to the show.

But, on the bright side, I've seen them 8 times since, and my 9th will be in ATL this summer. Can't wait.

Was home in WI for a couple weeks and I saw someone selling a ticket for face to the Eddie show in Minneapolis last year. I considered going but passed to spend the evening with my family instead. We did nothing special, but that show sure was.
