Too bad no Boston dates. Was lucky enought to see BoH in a 900 capacity venue last December and they blew the doors off the place. My ears rang for 2 days after. Would love to see them with MMJ someday.

Also 8/10 they are playing Somerset, WI, just east of the Twin Cities, with Trampled by Turtles opening.

ETA- I know MMJ but don't know anything about Band of Horses, can anyone give me some recommendations on what to check out.

They only have 3 albums and they are all amazing. My favorite is Cease to Begin. Their latest Infinite Arms is a really great album as well. Really can't go wrong no matter where you start. But Cease to Begin is their best IMO.

Id say Everything all of the time, their first. One of the best albums of the decade. But depends on what you like. the band started out very indie rock. and the next two albums have gotten progressively more country rock sounding.

I agree. They're biggest hit is on that album, "The Funeral" which closes almost, if not all, of their shows. The Great Salt Lake is another fantastic song. I love that album. Just something about Cease to Begin that stands out to me more. Like I said, you can't go wrong no matter where you start. All these guys have put out is gold and I can't wait to hear the new album later this year.

  • Is MMJ the headliners? Therefor a shorter BOH set?

When they played together at MSG last year, BOH got 13 songs and MMJ did 24. Those 24 songs included Steam Engine and Dondante, which both tend to last a while.

If BoH and MMJ have a similar time slot length there's something just completely wrong with the world. BoH are what MMJ would sound like if MMJ wasn't interesting. BoH will make for a good warmup but they're not in the same class as MMJ.

Probably gonna try to get tix to the Peabody Opera House show. Caught Wilco there last year and it's a classy place.

Yeah, it's a MMJ tour. There is no way that there will be similar time slots. BOH will get the normal 45 minutes and MMJ will have 2+ hours, which is how it should be.

Kinda upset that there is only 1 price option for the Brooklyn show! But also guessing it has something to do with f the nature of NYC prices! The good is that every act basically comes here. The bad is that NYC venues are usually more expensive than other cities!

But I don't think I can resist this double bill!!!
