I'd do it if it was George Bush or Ronald Reagan or any President.....you never know I might learn something from anyone of them.

yes I agree, I/ we can talk political crap about any president but untill you meet them face to face and talk with them you just don't know what kind of person they are.
I am pretty sure that I would enjoy myself with any President (Including Carter) vs this one we have now. I would take the dinner and I would ask only one question. "Mr President, do you love America?" At that point I think I will know all I need to know about him. It could turn out good, who knows.
First of all, obviously he is going to say yes, so how would that enlighten you?
Second, the answer should probably be no. How do love an inanimate object? Does America love you back? Are you sexually involved with America, or is it strictly platonic?
I like living in America, but basically the only reason I do is because I am born here and all of my friends and family are here. If I was born in France, I am sure I would like France. If I was born in Japan, I am sure I would like Japan. I want the best for our country, but that is just selfish because it benefits me.
Ask him how he plans to solve our debt issues. Why get involved in Libya, but not Syria. Wouldn't that be more constructive?
i wonder if we could have a beer together
missed out on the last barroom get together Barry had @ the Whitehouse
I would love to sit down with him for a while.
I might not even want to talk politics.
I would love to see what kind of a man he really is.
I would have loved to do the same with GW but for totally different reasons.
I think he is hilarious! And he doesn't even know it, that's the best part

Saw this. Got probably half a dozen emails to join him at George Clooney's house for dinner... IF I was chosen and IF I donated $3 or more to the campaign.

You all missed my point, of course he would say he loves America but I could then look him and theeye and tell he is lying. If you think this bum is doing a good job, your nuts.

I think he's doing a shit job, but he's better than Mitt, and don't even get me started on W.

I don't totally disagree but at least Mitt ran a business and has SOME experience.
I'd like to ask him how many "why the fuck did I run for POTUS?" moments he has during a given week.
And, is it worth it? You make a sub-standard salary compared to what you are tasked for. 1/3 of the nation hates your guts and thinks you are trying to ruin America based on the party designation behind your name. A low-level V.P. at GE probably made more in stock options last year then you will clear in four years. And you have to have armed guards to follow you around for the rest of your life because there is a good chance someone wants to kill you. What is the upside???
(this would be followed by Obama half-hazardly staring off into the distance before snapping to and ordering scotch on the rocks )
I don't wan't to have dinner with any politician at all no matter who he is ....
Romney ran a business ok that settles it he will make a great president :fp: :fp: !@#$ off ...
Agreed - though I think Ron Paul would be entertaining as hell!
As for running the government, I consider it in some ways tantamount to managing your own family or household. Common sense dictates frugality when necessary, and spending less than you earn. I realize there's more to it than that, but heeding those particular practices seems like sound judgment to me.

You would think that until you realize you can't force the congress to do something. It's all about persuasion and using it effectively. You can't just go in and say, "Okay this is the way it is going to be because that's how I want it." Your presidential powers are powerful, but only to a point.
and Obama has done nothing in the way of experience.
Yeah, and Romney hasn't held a political office since 2006. And that was Governor of the state I live in. Don't get me started on what a wonderful job he did.

True (and as I mentioned, that's not the only facet), but has he actually gone that route? I haven't seen a whole lot of it.
I know this may sound naive to some but I truly believe that Obama was clueless about what he was facing once he got into office. I wonder where his advisors were and what they were telling him and his camp before this whole thing fell into place. Did he really believe that he could do all the things that he said he would do? I think (IMHO of course) the he either really did believe it, or that he talked himself into believe his own words.
In the long run, we all know that partisanism is rampant and stubborn down to the last crumb. No one is giving in..not one tiny iota. Nothing of real worth can be accomplished due to exactly that.
Congress men and women who are supposed to be acting on our behalf, pledge to be at our behest, and to act in our best interest, are instead acting like a bunch of pre-schoolers squabbling over the extra cookie after lunch. Its ridiculous. And its embarrassing.
This lack of real action has affected me personally, my family, my bottom line, and I know that it has affected many of you as well. Who are they listening to? And why would they? They have everything they need, and more, much more...and will..forever until the day they die. Its no lie. Its working out for them and their cronies, right? Its not working out so well for me and you.
And bottom line, I do not, personally, believe, that ANY one person can change a damned thing about what's going on. What is the real point of being POTUS these days? You tell me?
peace,

Seems like a pretty ridiculous question to ask. Totally meaningless.
Not a useful catch phrase to get hung up on. Also, no one would have done any better than Obama. If anyone thanks so they are just deluding themselves. The US is fucked no matter who is in charge because corporations are the ones in charge and that ain't changing any time soon. But the least the voters could do is keep religion out of their politics, because if they let that happen any more (and it will if republicans get back in for any length again), then things will get REALLY fucked!
