Heads up - if anyone wants this or is Looking for it let me know. There's a uk based seller with a Mint one looking to move it. Asked if i could bring it here for her before it hit the famous auction site

Think it can go at $2300 - a bargain considering what Ebeans says

Paul - once again, those are some very respectable asking prices.

A great opportunity for a serious buyer or two to purchase some great pieces from an excellent source.

Man... If only I had a "spare" $2300... even then I couldn't justify it... that's almost 1% of my mortgage paid off...

good price though for a legit copy of this poster. I'm sure it'll wind up at a good home...

Now who's got a "cheap" copy of Hard Times for me? 8-)
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.

How much would you pay for one of the rarest Pearl Jam concert posters in existence? An eBay buyer recently shelled out more than $2,500 for a silkscreened poster that was not sold to the public.

The poster is for a July 13, 2006 gig with Sonic Youth at the Santa Barbara Bowl. It features a maroon and yellow background with soaring waves made out of skulls and hands reaching toward a green moon. Also in the blue of the water are cars, oil barrels, computers and garbage cans.

This particular item featured the signature of poster artist Emek. On Monday, the auction ended and the limited edition, mint condition poster sold for $2,550 plus $18 for shipping. Just imagine how many Pearl Jam concerts you could attend for that some amount of money!

The band played 30 songs at this gig, including ‘Do the Evolution,’ ‘Last Kiss’ and ‘World Wide Suicide,’ plus covers like Pink Floyd‘s ‘Interstellar Overdrive’ and the Rolling Stones‘ ‘Waiting On a Friend.’

Pearl Jam fans will soon have a new album to look forward to. Guitarist Stone Gossard says the new material will expand the band’s boundaries.
I believe it's so rare because it was officially commisioned Promotional poster by Nederlander for the Santa Barbara Bowl concert for Sonic Youth and Pearl Jam but wasn't actually sold at the show for some reason. Most of the ones produced were destroyed and so there is only an incredibly small number out there. So the rarity + Pearl Jam = big $$$.

i read this in a thread
It was done for the Promoter. It was a promo poster aka not for sale. They were originally made just to hang in the S.B. Bowl glass case out front. Emek probably would have sold these if Ames didn't make the rhino poster. If Emek ever sold these Ames/Pearl Jam could sue him because this was not the official poster. Because emek used the words "Pearl Jam" he can not sell these without the bands permission.
A lot of posters Emek does are promo posters IMO. 90% of his posters are not sold at the events.

A lot of posters Emek does are promo posters IMO. 90% of his posters are not sold at the events.

    To be clear:

Exactly what happened was Nederlander commissioned the poster, and actually had a table set up at the event to sell them. They sold a few before it was brought to their attention that Pearl Jam had officially commissioned Ames to do a poster for the event, which was being sold pretty much everywhere else in the venue. The stack of posters was then pulled (after selling a debatedly low number), and taken back to EMEK.

Ames did actually threaten to sue both PJ and EMEK over the incident (or at least rumors have buzzed around the poster world for some time that they did).. Rumors also have it that that said threat creating a souring of the PJ/Ames relationship, and thus the decline in posters being produced by them over the last 6 or 7 years... (there are other notes for that story, but I'm not staying up all night to type them)....

Since then, I understand EMEK has essentially given some away, which is why more copies seem to be turning up on a regular basis. Usually they are damaged to some effect - i.e. ripped in half - so finding them in mint condition is difficult... I understand the ones marked "H/C" were handed out by EMEK for one reason or another, and finding one with this mark is a good sign of the poster's authenticity, as this poster has been counterfitted on several occasions - finding one with a legit story, with it's origin traceable is a task in itself....

I am in no way implying this one isn't real, but I would be careful in buying this poster if it's not coming straight from the man (EMEK) itself. That being said, I'm sure whatever Paul is offering is legit and if won the lotto I would happily take it off his hands...

The person selling this has been selling a ton of very rare items lately, so I'd feel very comfortable that this is a legit item. There's probably no perfect way to authenticate, but I'd feel comfortable telling anyone that if they bought it they would not be ripped off in any way.

yes - thanks for the background Andrew, it always pays to be ultra cautious, especially with items of this value.

i am 100% certain this is legit and the real deal and does carry the HC marking and doodle and emek signature.

I would say anyone buying this is getting a gem for a very nice price

Having recently dealt with the seller in question for a very pricey and rare piece of PJ memorabilia I can tell you the seller is absolutely someone you'd want to deal with when a highly prized and sought after item that you're considering adding to your collection comes up for sale. I waited 15+ years to find it and I was actually more relieved to know that the seller was on top of things like packaging, customs, the item's true condition more so than actually having finally secured the item. It made the buying experience that more transparent and simple.

    Don't hesitate.

Again in no way, shape or fashion did I mean to imply that what's being offered isn't real, just giving the full background story... I'm a little bit obsessed with this print, and really wish I could justify spendings $2300 on it, because that is a good price, particularly for something with the "H/C" marking and typical EMEK doodles... but alas, I see the price tag and I think, "that's pretty much 1% of my mortgage paid off" and while that seems insignificant, I have to think it would be better spent on my mortgage....

I have a copy of the Unnatural Resources print (essentially the same thing without "Pearl Jam" written on it)... which looks beautiful and I aquired for ~$180... that will have to suffice for me unfortunately....
