you keep saying change the law. how about we actually enforce the ones that we have, since clearly that is the problem with this issue. the illegal hunting is not controlled because it is impossible to prevent it. if people like nugent want to go out and shoot an elephant or a bear, he is going to go out and shoot an elephant, a bear, or both. and how can you stop him from breaking the law if he chooses to do it?.
Ted shoots legally thats why he got caught once it's questionable and then dnr rule violations but
there are poachers and hunters hate these guys
the laws can be enforced and are but stiffer penalties for poachers that are caught would help more awareness to the problem would help maybe Ted will help with that
I mean the average person who's not a hunter doesn't think about this stuff
Teds trouble gets people talking good for the balance good for awareness
contact your congressmen support wildlife organizations change has come in the last 40 years
more will if everyone hunters included work at stopping illegal poachers
but the right to hunt will remain and laws should protect the species so they remain
this the balance if there is something somebody doesn't like like the canned hunts just try to change it
it beats griping on a forum

P.S. I don't think most people object to hunting as a means to provide food. It's the part about killing to kill and just taking the horns or tusks is what people find repulsive.

I agree on both counts and I find it repulsive for someone to eat meat then claim they are not a killer

Personally, I have no problem with hunting. I understand the hunter that shoots a deer for its meat and have absolutely no problem with that.
I do not understand the hunting to kill... if someone hunting, just to kill. But, as you said, as long as it is legal... it is legal. Just because I don't understand or like it does not mean my opinion should outweigh a legal pursuit.
The thing I don't understand is the machismo that surrounds it. How is shooting an unarmed animal that doesn't know he's got a set of crosshairs from a great distance make anyone feel manly? Sounds kind of chickenshit, to me. If the bear was shooting back... then, okay, I get that. Or if they were to take down a bear or a wolf with a knife... they are a fucking bad-ass Grizzly Adams Crockett. But, shooting from helicopter... kind of Wussy Galore, to me.

Especially, when you know these animals are baited and rounded up to make sure the "hunters" do get a kill. After all, it would be bad business if the clients of these canned hunts left without anything after paying $5000/$10000/$15000 more to the organisers!

Lately, when I see this thread going on and on I think of Paul Westerberg's song, "The Right to Arm Bears."

Honor a furry friend and eat vegetarian or at the very least eat something raised, and slaughtered thoughtfully, kindly, domestically. I doubt many of us really need to hunt in order to feed ourselves.

Someone had a comedy bit where they talked about it... chickens, cows, pigs. It's okay to eat them because there are just so many of them fuckers and they are stupid and easy to kill... Here, piggy, piggy, piggy. BANG!!! Mmmmmm... bacon.
We protect and save the cute or smart or majestic animals... like dolphins, otters and eagles. Like the cute little otters that are so cute with their little humanlike hands and their floating on the water and their cracking oysters with a rock... But the cow... Shut the fuck up, cow. You're a sirloin with Worstershire or a catcher's mitt... get on the truck!
    ...
Bottom line... yeah, some animals are cute and some animals are lunch. To group them all in to one category or the other is ridiculous because just like everything else... it ain't just black or white.

it was exactly what I thought it was after my own investigation.

So you are ok then with legal hunting and if Ted's very minor discretion is the end
of his bad behavior you can then give him props... yes? that would be forgiving.

Oh please, now Ted's discretion is MINOR give me a break. you should become his defense lawyer you would do a great job for him. Is it so hard to say what he has admitted to is absolutely wrong and a fricking crime that most of us would not do? Well is it Pandora. My lord!

    Peace
I have tendency to agree with a poster here who mentioned the alarmist attitudes of the left
using the words poacher, child molester, draft dodger in a derogatory way.
It comes from a political place in my opinion.

failing to submit a tag form to the DNR, after a bear escapes, taking another to me ...
ONCE, ONCE mind you ... his charges yes minor in the big scope of poaching.

These actions in my opinion, do not define him to be a poacher
and like child molester using these terms distracts from the very heinous
activities of those who truly are.

Ted's actions were illegal and he is paying his dues that should be the end of it.
But because of bias already in place it will not be for many here, including you g under p
    as you have honestly acknowledged.

So how can anyone debate with any reasonable common
sense when they admit to be biased in Ted' s case alone.

This afternoon i took the ATV's out for a spin passed some turtles, gators, startled a trio of deer and had to slow down almost to a stop for some horses. In our community horses rule and are to respected like all the animals of this planet.

I honestly don't know what politics has to do with this subject matter, it doesn't because I don't care what political persuasion TN is from. I don't know anything about any child molestation coming from him, I do know he ducked out of going to Vietnam which makes him a draft dodger...you can pretty up the picture anyway you want it won't work. Oh and I did learn from this imformative thread he has killed animals illegally which you seem to have admitted to and so what if some want to call him a poacher get over it...it is what it is...minor discretion please.

Here we go with the bias...judgemental crap...listen lady it has nothing to do with what TN has done to animals in this thread. Do you think IF and I say IF I had NOT witnessed and experienced the things TN did at a show I would say something here differently? It would be worse lady far worse you see because I'm not surprised to learn he's capable of doing this illegal act to an animal that he's capable of doing it to a human I've seen it. Geez! Yes I do hate the guy for what he did in the past but it has no bearing on what he's done illegally to animals here got it.

I think someone here said something of being on a high horse..get off it the air down is fresher...to take a line from Megadeth...Peace Sells...But I'm Not Buying Into this Judgemental, Understanding, Bias, Crap when you can't seem to do so yourself. Thanks you can have the last word as usual.
