Just talked to CCFA locally and the person I spoke with is the one that had arranged the Luann Kahn/McCready interview last fall. She said that she is going to be contacting Mike's people to see if he will donate any signed items like in Canada, then will work with me to form a more solid idea. There was talk that sounded like she may be more interested in the bar idea as opposed to the tailgate. This is in part because of possiblu having to secure permits around the venue for whatever we do, especially if we sell things to raise money. I painted the tailgate as more of a party of young, responsible adults, yet we would love to help and PJ fans have taken up some slack in donating since Mike announced his condition. I didn't want to make it sound like a drunken free for all of course. She mentioned that at the Gotta Have Guts race Mike told her he'd be back in late Spring and that he wanted to actively do something with the local CCFA again.
So far, so good.0 -

I would be willing to call the Tweeter Center and talk to them (or email, even better, I would have a record of all conversations) and see about securing permits for the fundraiser (I figured this would happen). Let me call the Tweeter Center and find out if permits are even necessary for this...Underneath this smile lies everything

I also have a contact at the CCFA that I'm working with and I have an email into Pearl Jam's folks.
Great work guys!!!!

Ok, I just called the Tweeter Center and the first lady I spoke to said she thought there would NOT be any permits involved and transferred me to another guy and I left him a message. But from what she said no permits are needed....Underneath this smile lies everything

Just talked to the Director of Operations- he said that permission for any fund raiser has to come through the band as far as anyone "tabling". That being said, since Mike is CCFA affiliated, it's a green light. He is going to check with code enforcement for me to see about any permits, etc. to see what, if anything is needed. He said he does not think any are needed. If the CCFA is ok with the parking lot, then we are a go there.0
