It pains me that YIELD is getting old enough that we're gettign so little of it now. :(
In the mid-late 90's, "ice brewing" was the rage. There was Bud Ice, Icehouse, and there was Natty Ice. Ice beers tend to have a stronger alcohol content and have a very smooth taste.
Natty Ice is only for teh strongest of minds, but in 1998 (truthfully) I drank the FUCK outta it. I was madferit. Loved it. And you will have a hangover from hades.
If you want to try an ice beer, try Bud Ice (if they still make it). That shit was good.
You're not impressed because of all the new songs being played, I'll guess. But this is a tour to support the new album and for most if not all of the 1st leg I would suspect it would stay this way. Hell 2nd leg may be the same way... till the Gorge where they break out all the old tunes we have grown to love and play the two longest shows back to back in their history... trying to play almost every song in the catalog
I'm looking forward to hearing the new album live and so far I'm happy it isn't like a Green Day show with basically the band playing the new album from start to finish in order. I think these shows will be more about what older songs they do decided to play from show to show... cause whether we like it or not we're stuck hearing the new album...

You wont be let down by hearing those first 5 songs in hartford. The new songs f'in rock. I hope they play the new garden again...that was a highlight of irving plaza. Also it looks like albany or hartford might get a debut...possible big wave or parachutes...im hopeing for the latter in hartford cause i know how much julie would love that.

an impressive tutorial. i know nothing about beer it seems.
back at work today, yippee.
will probably take me till lunch to get through all my freakin emails :(
im not impressed w/last nights setlist
I kinda agree with ya on the setlist. Some people are acting like this is the setlist of all setlists...I mean its good but there have been better!
Im hoping for more songs and I still dont like the 4 new songs in a row to start off the show. Granted I like the new songs and I know this tour is to support the new ablum, but its kinda like they are just throwing them out there first to get them over with. Also, to play 1 Yield song and 0 Riot Act songs...whats that all about!?!? Of course, I know they cant play 3 hour plus shows and be able to hear every song we want to hear. I'll be happy to see them playing no matter what. Im hoping for Indifference, Oceans and Red Mosquito this tour!!!!!!!
Knowing the way they change up the setlists, Im not too worried.
just to let everyone know, if parachutes is played we will all meet in the venue lobby and hang out.
ok, i do like SOME of the new songs. i realize this tour is to support their new album, but my problem w/the setlist is that they group them altogether in the beginning. so its expected. i like the unexepected, not knowing which song they are going to play next, ya know? also, id love to hear garden, but i want to hear it as something special, not something thats played EVERY night...ugh...i guess they cant please everyone.
i do like the severed hand opener, i would like to see that. lets just see how tonights setlist goes and fridays, then ill re-eval things.
"I hear Fanch has a Pimp Cup and loves Kiss. I think that's all that really matters."

Stop being bitter...parachutes is one of the top 3 songs on the album lyrics wise...and the music is pretty good as well. I agree with you on garden...i hope they dont play it every night though...And i dont know if anyone has noticed yet but i think they may have put crazy mary away for a while...which would be nice if they made that a rarity. I can see how you wouldnt want alll those songs played after eachother in order to keep some spontinuity alive...but its strange how well they mesh together...they sort feel right played together...but you will see.

The less Boom the better. I still can't believe how much he ruined Red Mosquito for me.
Here's the odd thing...and I'll loosely say this, I actually kinda like Parachutes if I like anything on that album. At first I was like, "Fuck, now we're singing lullabies?" But there is a certain quality about I like about it that I can't quite put my finger on yet.

At least you have your voice back ... sort of.
It still sounds a bit raw like you've been chain smoking, but it's better then no voice at all.
