READ this article. and show it to your wife also.

    http://money.cnn.com/2006/03/22/pf/millionaire/turner/index.htm

This is a happily married couple, with a baby on the way and they still make time for PEARL JAM, they have their priorities in order!!!!!!!!

If your wife gives you a hard time about going to 7 shows in 10 days just sit her down and say "Honey, look this is perfectly normal what I am doing here. I'm only going to 7 shows in 10 days. And yes I will need to buy a t-shirt and poster at all 7 shows but that is perfectly normal."

Look at the smile on his face. You know she lets him hit it from the back.

This time around I kept my mouth shut and bought the tickets. 5/31 is a real stretch but I rationalized it before I bought the ticket. A year from now I will look back and see that show as not one of 4 within 5 consecutive days, but one that was only a 2 hour drive from home. Why wouldn't I drive two hours to see Pearl Jam? That would be stupid.

She is going to be mad. I am going to be there. In my opinion, that is better than "Why didn't you go to more NJ shows?" after the fact. Like I said, I don't think I'll ever get over State College, or MSG, but that is another story all together and my friend's doing.

FRIEND: "I don't think that we want to be bothered with getting in and out of NYC. NY is not a good idea. We'll stick to Philly." I bought it having never been to MSG.

    after the fact

FRIEND: "Oh yeah, MSG would have been real easy. There is a train from Philly that pulls in right under the venue. Maybe we should have done that."

    Fuck me...

You didn't know that? yea there is NJ Transit or AMTRAK trains that pull right into Penn Station which is directly under MSG, and the trains run until all hours of the night. so you can attend the concert and take the train home afterwards.

Regardless, MORE COFFEE you are doing the right thing. trust me, if you didn't go to the 5/31 show you would kick yourself the day after and months after. By going to the show you eliminate that problem!!!

If a PJ show is within 2 hours driving distance you are required to attend. If I ever get married (which is highly, highly, I repeat HIGHLY unlikely) the "PJ clause" will be written into my pre-nup agreement.

    Basically it will state:

The 2-Hour rule: If Pearl Jam is playing within a 2 hour driving/train distance from my house I will attend that show.

The Poster rule: I will buy a poster for every show I attend. I will also display these posters in the house, on the walls, framed. If we ever get divorced I keep the posters, you can have everything else.

There will also be a "Sunday NFL football clause" written in the pre-nup as follows:

"Every Sunday during NFL season I will be watching football. This means from 11am when NFL Countdown is on ESPN, up until 11pm when Sports Center is on it will be football, football, football. No exceptions. During the 1 week where the EAGLES have a bye, I will still be watching football."

I went to Holmdel all by myself. I didn't ask anyone's opinion. I didn't ask anyone if they wanted to go. I bought my ticket three days before the Hershey show. On the 14th I got home from work, made two PB&J's, pulled four Sam Adams from my fridge, threw it all in a small cooler and hit the road. It was one of the best shows of my life. The best before the Borgata. I have no problem going out on my own. It sounds like a lot of you will be there too so I won't really be alone now will I? Mike, you have first refusal to my 102XXXtra.

see. you did the right thing. you said fuck it. I'm going to HOLMDEL and it turned out to be a great, great show....you are doing the right thing. 5/31 show will be awesome.

Hindsight is 20/20. I have one poster up on my walls. It's Philly...of course. :D

I really hope 5/31 happens now. It felt so good when I clicked "Buy" around 7:45PM this evening.

Ha ha ha.. yeah if we had that much money in our bank accounts, I think most women would let us hit it any way we wanted.

PhillyPJ- I'll have to remember them clauses if I think of getting married again.. not that I am.

And MC- how could I refuse it???

Damn I'm tired, and realized how fucking uncomfortable it is taking a bath for the first time in like, who knows how long. Especially when the rest of the bathroom looks like a leftover prop from The Moneypit. Ahh but it will all be finished soon enough and I can relax in my nice whirlpool tub :D

Whirlpool! Now that is clean living. The only whirlpool action I get in my tub is when I open the drain.

If the 31st happens, the ticket is your's. Like PhillyPJ said, it is the smart move. If you change your mind later about the show don't worry. I'll be in the same boat as you with Washington, except I'll be driving back home right after the show. I probably won't see my pillow until 2:30AM if I'm lucky and I'll have to be up by 5:30AM for work on Wednesday. I'll be ready to do it again though by the end of the day. :) 6/01 will be my night off. Missing that show will just help to get me even more pumped up for the 3rd. :D

Thursday mornin' thoughts (in classic PhillyPJ-format):

    - I've noticed many meetup threads for other cities that are shamelessly emulating this one. That's cool.

    - "Bipolar Dave" wants to add me as a friend on myspace. I'll pass

    - I am going to see OASIS on Saturday with my friend Mike (aka, "Makul") and his fine white woman. For those of you who know, this is the "da white rice, wit da meat on it" dude.

    - My boss is on vacation starting today through Wednesday. Nice.

    - Chrom should invite pretty babies over to his new whirlpool, because he's money, and pretty babies just wanna party.

    - Tonight is Sweet 16 basketball, which probably means I'll be hung over tomorrow. Well, my boss is out, so I'll definitely be.

    - So, yeah.

Yeah I don't think I can.. I'll be aching but I can recover on Sunday after the hectic week is all over. Plus I'm taking off Wed from work anyway so don't have to change any plans.

Check PM.. and hopefully TG doesn't get sad again ;)
