Made just for new movie..

Feels very Audioslave to me...

it's alot softer edged than i thought it was going to be. Not a bad song though. Sounds like something more of a Cornell solo kinda song.

Just listened to it, bit disappointed. After hearing the 20 second clip the other week I was expecting this to be heavy but its not. It is in some parts and that solo later in the song is good but its just too light for me. I always expect a dirtier, heavier sound from Soundgarden and this isn't it. Its good but I'm hoping the stuff for the new album is heavier.

My initial reaction was "meh," but the song definitely picks up towards the end. Definitely sounds a little more commercial since it's for a movie.

Its not that bad of a song but yes it is kind of bland. I know it was written for a movie so I was expecting something pretty generic. I have high expectations for the new album though.

I like it. It's kind of Soundgarden a little mellower. I also have gotten older so maybe that's why though.

    It's not bad.
Def sounds like a song they could have put on an Audioslave album though.

Love the guitar sound and main riff and the drums are pretty cool. Everything else, meh. Nice to hear something new from SG, regardless.

Sounds good. Not "first single" great.
    Sounds like an audioslave song.

I don't think this is gonna be on their album...could be wrong but I heard this was ONLY for the soundtrack

Yup. According to Chris, none of the songs on the new album really fit the movie, so they wrote and recorded it just last week.

I have to say, they kinda teased us with that riff last week - you'd naturally assume is was going to be a little heavier after hearing that. As their first song in 15 years, it's a bit of a letdown. As a song made for the soundtrack to a summer blockbuster? Not too shabby, especially when you consider what other bands contributed material (Papa Roach :? ...). The solo is 100% badass vintage Kim Thayil.

Jesus Christ, talk about over produced. How many effects and studio tools were used in that song?

It's ok, but it doesn't sound like Soundgarden to me. Sounds more like Chris solo or an Audioslave track.

If we're talking soundtrack songs, it's much closer to Chris' "You KNow My Name" than SG's "Birth Ritual"

It's very Audioslave... but I listen to it twice, and I actually really like it now.

    Love these guys :D8-)
The thing I like most about time is that it's not real. It's all in the head. Sure, it's a useful trick to use if you want to meet someone at a specific place in the universe and have tea or coffee- but that's all it is- a trick. There is no such thing as the past. It exists only in the memory. There is no such thing as the future. It exists only in our imagination. If our watches were truly accurate, the only thing they would ever say is "Now". That's what time it is. It's "Now". - Damien Echols
