any other team(excepting the storm) and i wouldnt have been concerned with trailing 8-26... but damn haslers got the dogs well oiled and disciplined. going in i had adam reynolds as the key for souths and hey! i was right. hes been on fire this year.. his kicking game has been so important and when he left the paddock, that finesse and subtlety he brings to the bunnies's game left with him. i thought G.I. was all class going after eastwood the way he did during that final try. the game was lost but he couldnt let it go. tho i have to say... that first perrett try was NOT a penalty try. and despite me hating the doggies with a passion, i hate the storm more... so tho it kills me to say it... GO DOGGIES!!!

I thought the penalty try was fair. He dived into him his kneed in his back. If you feel hard done by, think of it this way. It cost you 2 point in the end, which is probably a square up for that block/tap Morris got penalised for.

Inglis is all class, all the time.. And Reynolds was very good. I think dogs would have gone on and won, I don't think Rabbitohs would have been able to sustain that intensity for all the game. And all year dogs have withstood a lot, but have tended to bounce back.

Burgess was good, but again, he as a bit of ill discipline in it.

morris... what a pain in the arse he is.

i dont feel hard done by.. it was just an observation. ive been watching this game for a lot of years and ive seen plenty of tries where a defender has gone in on the try scorer solely because his momentum has carried him there and it hasnt resulted in a penalty try. it wasnt a malicious action. and to me thats the measure in the awarding a penalty try. ive also seen players deliberately drop in on scorers or tackled players. i know the difference. and lets face it perrett didnt really think much of it either.

i think youre right about souths being unable to sustain the integrity needed to win tonight. tbh its been their problem all year against the quality sides. im sure maguire will work on that with them.

I looked, all I saw was people posting photos of rabbits.
Sorry if I missed it, but could you please explain?

I am also curious about why the Bulldogs have many muslim followers.
Is it because of Hazem El Masri or is Canterbury an area with a large muslim community? Or both?

Large Muslim background.. .Wasn't always the case, obviously, but the west of Sydney has become ghettos. El Masri certainly helped attract Lebanese people to the game. But, at the end of the day I think it is mainly the area.

But I think the doggies crowd are pretty shit. I've seen many fights etc. I don't think I'd take my children to a dogs game which is sad.

On the plus side, I bought grand final tickets last night...

Can't wait for saturday... so nervous. If swans and dogs both win, here is my new tattoo...

Nah nah... fuck no haha I wouldn't last a minute.. I live up in Northern Sydney.. I used to go for the bears before they got kicked out. All my dad's family went for the bulldogs, so I followed.

I'm getting my little nephews into the swans this weekend. Got my 4 year old and 19 month old singing cheer cheer the red and the white.

The 4 year old loves Adam Goodes... he went mental the other week when he scored a goal. He's got no idea about AFL, though loves Goodes and the Swans. Probs cause I've got some Goodes memorabilia hanging above my bed. But when he sees a black person on tv, he says 'Goodesy'

haha... as you as you start talking about the West of Sydney, cate gets fired up haha...

It's a funny one re: North of Sydney needing a football team, they do, but the league landscape in Sydney/NSW is full.

Personally I think Brisbane needs a 2nd team as the Broncos get to tap into all of Brisbanes juniors. That's why historically they've been such a strong team.

Also Western Australia needs a team. For it to be a National competition, a team over there can be backed by some mining people. And Western Australians actually like Rugby League.. If you were to say 20 years ago there would be either a successful rugby league team in either W.A or Victoria, I would hazard a guess that most people would say Western Australia... Sure the Western Reds failed. But that was when Rugby League was run by men with cauliflowered ears. These days, it is more of a business, and I would say that it would be successful

And as for my tattoo... you're just jealous Souths aren't in it...

PS, don't know if I said this, but I've got 2nd row tickets to the granny on Sunday... boo yeah!

pfft im not jealous... its a hideous tattoo and you know it. :P

brisbane had a second team, remember? and whilst i dont advocate an expansion to western australia id support that before id support a team from an entirely different country.funny how you think a western australian franchise is necessary for it to be a trully national comp. what about the northern territory or tasmania??? neither of those even have an AFL team, theyd be perfect. i also think the central coast can support a team. theyve got everything in place. juniors, a massive fan base, an excellent stadium in bluetongue. and yes as a souths fan i am fully aware that the game is now more of a business. ;)

oh and while im having a constructive bitch... hows about we keep ALL state of origin matches in the states of origin.

Yes, agree about state of origin...

But refer to my previous point about men with cauliflowered ears running ARL before re South Qld crusher.

I know Brisbane is smaller than Sydney, but imagine this...

Sydney having one team... and being able to choose from all the junior competitions. To develop them from a young age. It's not fair tbh. Brisbane are on a bit of a dip atm , but they have some talented kids. They pick the cream before any other team gets a look in. It's no wonder, that historically the broncos have the majority of origin representatives. Obviously exceptions to the rule with smith, cronk and slater etc

Brisbane have missed just one final series since I can remember.. .I just looked it up, that was 2010 they finished 10th. In 1988 (their inception), and 1991, they came 7th. Now I think it was a top 5 system back then. So that's 3 finals they've missed in 24 years and won 6 premierships... One every 4 years. There is no other club with a record like that.

Storm have missed 3 times, and they've been around for 13 years for one premiership (yes, I have taken two off them hahah)

Why are the Broncos able to do this? Because they pick the best of the best..
