Are you not reading? We know this shit is going on. If you feel the need to watch a helpless person getting stomped then there is seriously something wrong.

i watched the fucking video once and witnessed a kid stomping on another.

you actually believe there is something wrong with me because i want to make up my own mind and watch the video?

that fight wasn't shit. i been in worse brawls than that by 10 fold. did the kid get stitches? a black eye? did he get a broken nose?

sure it is brutal to stomp someone. i am not the bad guy for viewing the altercation

Your attitude is EXACTLY what's wrong with humanity. May you never be in a bad situation where you are victimized, violated, or attacked.

And yes, you are completely desensitized if you choose to view a video of a disabled person being stomped by a bully. And one wonders why there's so much violence and oppression in the world...

I have been attacked (was years ago - honestly forget it happened most of the time. Didn't even occur to me u til right now). :? Unfortunately it wasn't caught on video, so the people were never identified.
(If anyone's curious, I was walking a lone, a van with 3 or 4 guys in it pulled over, one dude jumped out the side and punched me and then tried to drag me into the van, but I had my keys between my knuckles as always when alone at night, and I managed to punch him in the throat with them and luckily he kind of freaked and they took Hoffman I don't think they were expecting resistance thank goodness. It hadn't occurred to me until now that it wwould have been good if a video existed. I never even called the cops because I had nothing to go on. No license plate, and useless description).

Wrong. You are desensitized if you can watch it and not feel sick about it. The video is what keeps people from beng desensitized, without it, it just words on a page.

This is getting really old. You have to be utterly sick to voluntarily watch a person that's disabled being stomped on by a bully. SICK.

Honestly, I am so tired of hearing about the lack of empathy and compassion at schools these days. What happened to teaching children to care about others and to be kind to other people?

Bullies seem to get free reign to do whatever the hell they're gonna do. Why aren't THEY the ones having to leave school in a case like this?

The person who is hurt is the one who has to leave? That seems so backward and wrong!

when watching the video i do not see a disabled kid. no one would know he was a child with a disability unless he or his parents informed us citizens. in this case they did inform everyone. now we (the folks outside of the boy's community) know

Personally, I think stuff longer this makes sure that people don't trivialize bullying when it enters their lives, or kids lives. I don't think many people get a kick out of watching that video. I know I couldn't watch the whole thing.

I agree, Jeanwah and I also refuse to watch this. I've seen bullying in real life and I've been bullied. I got beat up over and over by the same guy in high school.

Some of you might want to hear the details, right?... No way. Why? NO WAY!! Just thinking about it puts me in a bad space. And if there had been cell phone videos back then I would not want someone to see it. There is a lot of shame associated with being stomped on.

I get so upset about this that I need to change frame of mind so here's a cool story from my recent read:

"10:01 p.m. Chicago, Il: I did this in-store thing today. I met a long line of people. Near the end of the ordeal, a woman came in with a group of retarded adults. She asked if they could meet me. I told her to keep them all to the side and let me get finished with the line and then I could hang out with all of them with no interruptions. So, when the line had gone away, I hung out with these people. They were so cool. I did photos with this one guy, I think his name was Igor, he was very intense. One of the women and I walked around the store and checked out things and she gave me her take on all the different items, it was so cool.

The woman who takes care of them told me that she has taken them to meet people in bands and other notable types and they're usually mean to them and don't want to meet them. That's strange. That doesn't sound like anyone in bands that I know."

wow I took off for the weekend for a BMX race and had 8 people in my 1045 sqf home  and thats besides my own family of three...it was wall to wall BMX'er's at casa de Godfather. ...serious and it was a blast ! but anyway Jeanwah I'm sorry I upset you with my post and to be honest with you I don't have to explain my motive for the story to you,it's plain to see you have already figured that out all on your own and for the record I had a nephew with down syndrom who fell when he got out of bed broke his nose layed back down and drowned in his own blood before his mother found him lifeless in his bed I also have a young cusion who was born with epilepsy and a seveer learning disorder who is now married so don't jump to conclusions on people you don't know much about, I have joked with you on the train and tried to be as kind as possible towards you and will keep doing so ;) I believe that dispite our different views (foxnews and such :D ) you are at heart a kind person and I wish you the best.

....gotta share this, my nephew was a down kid but had a crazy knack for remembering movie dialog and one day at school during class his teacher called on him for something and he looked at her and said "do I make you horney baby" the poor teacher laughed fo hard she cried she called his mother and Blair said they both coulden't stop laughing, I still laugh sometimes thinking about it.

Have to admit, I saw him have that first seizure and couldn't watch the rest, that scares the shit out of me enough. :? I don't think that they should keep showing the video but the family may have allowed it to bring attention the their cause?? Just putting it out there that maybe they want more justice for what happened and by allowing it to be broadcast, it could help get them the support they need to take these kids to court? Don't know, just a thought?
I understand how you feel though, it's horrible. I collect donations for kids with epilepsy every year, they organise for them to go on camps where they get to meet other kids with it. It's a great cause.

    Closed for review.

This thread is going to remain closed. It was fine to defend yourself about an overreaction to the thread or posted video link but what's most important is that you all remember that you're real people and sometimes have strong feelings about an issue. It might even be an overreaction that isn't quite on the nose but I hope you'll all find another thread where you can have a meeting of the minds, or polite PMs with apologies because some words posted were a bit much. Clearly, any violence against another person is wrong and the topic could have been discussed without a video. Let's try to find a place somewhere in the middle when discussing some topics, ok? Thanks, everyone. It's a new week.
