"Did my welfare cheque come today, man?"
(1Thoughtknown, 2008)"My brain's a good brain!"0 -
Guess I can forgive him for dropping out of university.
Thirty must be happy he invested in Turdo as well. Wonder if he will forgive Mr. Turdo the snowboard instructor who is most impressed with China's government?0 -
it's interesting to me that you keep wailing away the fact that everyone thinks you are voting Harper. yet you continue to say that I have some sort of left wing agenda. I'm not left wing at all. I'm all over the map, and I vote depending on that particular party's platform in that particular election. I have voted conservative in the past. I have voted NDP. I have voted Green. I have voted Lib. I have also spoiled a ballot or two. my votes have changed as my life has changed and how canada has changed and how I deem it necessary to change further.1ThoughtKnown said:
I wasn't defending him, I agree with some things he has done. I agree with some of his policies. Everyone arguing with me merely points out everything he has done wrong.
The whole time (I'll say this again) I have mentioned reasons I don't like him and some of his policies.
Be a pretty boring discussion if it was all anti-Harper. Be pretty one-sided. I get personal when the person doesn't read my post and merely post antagonistic left wing rhetoric. Or cuts and pastes someone else's opinion.
So I became a target when one person continually ignored most things posted and continually focussed on items they felt best served their anti-conservative views (and it blew up on them, which I deem to be idiocy, the act of a meathead, etc. Etc.
It certainly wasn't intelligent, so I Lowered myself to the antagonistic level this thread was dropping to. Since you like to review the history perhaps you should do proper research and go back to the beginning.
But you won't, because it won't help you agenda, which is getting votes for Trudeau
Edit: politics is a dirty game, and Trudeau looks like a pussy to me. All about feelings and Canadians vs Canadians. Played a lot of sports and worked a lot of places, never had much success being lead by a pussy.
like I said, I'm not a huge fan of Trudeau. I don't know how he'll do on the world stage. If this was the US, absolutely you couldn't get away with that. But Canada? we can for a while. our role is different than that of other world powers. what has harper done on the world stage that has meant anything but show that he's had tea with a few leaders?
harper has done nothing but campaign on fear. and it works. GWB did it, and Harper has learned from him well.
do I like the idea of the country going into debt intentionally? no, but I also know we need a stimulant to the economy long-term, and stimulating the middle class, whether you like it or not, is how you do that. lowering taxes on the super rich does NOTHING. lowering taxes on corporations does NOTHING. lowering taxes on the middle class and small business is how you drive an economy and sustain it.
are you upper class? if not, why insult the middle class? if so, why insult the middle class? people strive for happiness, not for a social class. at least I do. striving for the middle is not the canadian way. it's the human way, to strive for happiness and community for all. not just the priveledged few.
I keep hearing that Trudeau is going to "legalize" pot. is that true, or is he just going to decriminilize it?
don't make excuses for being "dragged down to" someone else's level. either apologize or don't. don't blame it on someone else. that's what my kids do.
of course people are going to say nothing but bad things about Harper. in the eyes of most on here, it's time for him to go. and if someone is talking about the positives (especially in the arrogant fashion it has been done), the natural thing to do in a debate is to make a counterpoint. that's basic human interaction 101.
so can we now surmise you are voting NDP? or are you still keeping it a big bad secret?By The Time They Figure Out What Went Wrong, We'll Be Sitting On A Beach, Earning Twenty Percent.0 -
They were giving welfare cheques to the "middle class" in 08?
Suppose that may happen under Turdo, but wasn't there a responsible government in place in 080 -
I forgive everyone.
My only wish is that those people that take advantage of these programs don't judge others too harshly for doing the same. That's reasonable isn't it?"My brain's a good brain!"0 -
a very scary bill indeed.polaris_x said:current projections ... could live with this ... hopefully, needing the support of the ndp means a repel of bill c-51

Kind of how I picture most of the posters on this thread0 -
Just to see I'm being fair, as I've stated numerous times, I have concerns about Harper0 -
Harper attended Northlea Public School and, later, John G. Althouse Middle School and Richview Collegiate Institute, both in Central Etobicoke. He graduated in 1978, and was a member of Richview Collegiate's team on Reach for the Top, a television quiz show for Canadian high school students.[7] Harper enrolled at the University of Toronto but dropped out after two months.[8] He then moved to Edmonton, Alberta, where he found work in the mail room at Imperial Oil.[8] Later, he advanced to work on the company's computer systems. He took up post-secondary studies again at the University of Calgary, where he completed a bachelor's degree in economics in 1985. He later returned there to earn a master's degree in economics, completed in 1991.[9] Harper has kept strong links to the University of Calgary, where he often lectured. Harper is the first prime minister since Joe Clark without a law degree.1ThoughtKnown said:

Trudeau has a Bachelor of Arts degree in literature from McGill University and a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of British Columbia. After graduation, he worked as a French and math teacher at West Point Grey Academy and Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School in Vancouver, British Columbia.[12][13] From 2002 to 2004, he studied engineering at the École Polytechnique de Montréal, a part of the Université de Montréal.[14] He also started a Master of Arts degree in Environmental Geography at McGill University before suspending his program to seek public office.[15]
and you accuse us of having a left wing agenda? come on, at least post the full truth.
do you fault Harper for dropping out to get a job in the mail room? I don't. good for him for knowing what he wanted to do.

Have you thought for a second how you are coming across on these boards?
Now that you have figured out how to do it... post all the goofy pictures of Trudeau you want. Speaking for myself... it doesn't move me in the slightest.
Do you want a rebuttal of Harper memes- there's plenty of them? I thought you were a really gifted and talented drop out that was demanding serious discourse? I'm confused by your behaviour. I'm starting to think you are part of a sociological experiment designed to test patience levels. I mean... who acts like this? Seriously?"My brain's a good brain!"0 -

I have no problem with anyone dropping out, it's why I posted it. Perhaps you should read what I posted underneath the meme. Tsk Tsk, so over-reactionaryHughFreakingDillon said:

A gun registry! What a great idea! What did that cost before? 2 Billion?
We don't have a gun problem in Canada.0 -

Of course, the part at the bottom. That he charges charities when he speaks. Sounds like socially conscious doesn't it? I mean, that's not capitalist in anyway right?
He is going to help the ones who need it by giving a speech, and then running off with money donated to help the less fortunate. Sounds like real change0 -
Didn't want to leave Lizzy out. She gets a little bent outta shape when she isn't part of the debate.
