I was not excited about this release at all when I first heard about it. Happy to hear NY & CH will have another release later this year though. And I did happen to enjoy this song so I guess this album will have to hold me over for now.
That was cool - don't know what to make of that video.

The next Americana video has been released. It's for "Jesus' Chariot (She'll Be Coming Round The Mountain)", and it's another old film (I couldn't see any smoking 5 year olds in this one though!)

Rumors are flying about Farm Aid and the Bridge School Benefit. Here is what I've seen.
Farm Aid
9/22
Hershey, PA
Bridge School Benefit
10/20-21
Mountain View, CA
Hopefully Neil will play both of these events with Crazy Horse this year!
Mountain View- PLEASE MAKE IT SO!
My folks used to live close to Shoreline Amphitheater and some time around 1996 or 1997, when I was visiting, I got wind that NY and CH were playing at Shoreline. It was too late to get tickets so I went to a park that is nearby and climbed way the heck up into a tree and could see a little bit of the stage- not the band though :( But the sound from my tree perch was awesome and the Horse was rocking!

That sounds exactly like the view from the lawn at Shoreline!

Every BSB except one (Oakland in 1988) has been at Shoreline Amphitheater, so it's probably a safe bet that it will be held there this year as well.
You see me empty, Sir, do not pause and inquire, simply assume and refill.

I think when the camera gets in close to the old lady in the hat she's saying, "stupid fucking bitch..."
I remember seeing a few live knife throwing acts in the 50's when I was a kid. One was at a Cowboy and Indian carnival that featured American Indian's in full regalia. Really trippy.

Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.

The part about 3 minutes in where the little girl is smiling as the knives get closer is seriously disturbing! I like both videos, although the official one is easier to watch

Reminded me of my dad's story when he and his friends used to play "mumbltey peg", where you'd throw a knife and try to get it between each others feet. My dad put a knife through another kids foot, and that was the end of that game.
"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

Yeah, I was expecting the worst. Apparently that's the "Rejected" video though, Neil's got a sense of humor.
Just got an email with the official video for Clementine.
