Hi everyone!

I have a 'ROCK CHICKS, Female Rockers from the 1960s to Now' book i would like to giveaway. It is practically brand spanking new and features women such as Stevie Nicks, Joan Jett, PJ Harvey, Annie Lennox and heaps more. An interesting read.
http://www.rockpoolpublishing.com.au/bo ... ock-chicks
What the hey! I'll throw in a brand new, XL ladies Avocado t-shirt too. Its too short for my liking so i have never worn it.
I would love to give this away to a female, whether it be a fellow PJ member or a PJ member's sister, wife, mother etc. so feel free guys to enter on behalf of them. :)

Just tell me your favourite female rocker and I will pick a winner on Tuesday. Good luck folks and take care.

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

So hard to pick just one!

    Janis Joplin
    Stevie Nicks
    Debbie Harry
    Alanis Morissette
    Delores O'Riordan
    Fiona Apple
    Tori Amos
    PJ Harvey
    Sheryl Crow
    Tracy Chapman
    Marianne Faithful
    Courtney Love
    Gwen Steffani (circa No Doubt)
All played a big part in my life at some stage.

If I had to pick just one it would probably be Shirley Manson from Garbage. I idolised her as a teenager.

So I'm back, to the velvet underground
Back to the floor, that I love
To a room with some lace and paper flowers
Back to the gypsy, that I was
To the gypsy, that I was

And it all comes down to you
Well, you know that it does
Well, lightning strikes, maybe once, maybe twice
Ah, and it lights up the night
    And you see your gypsy
    You see your gypsy

Gotta go with my girl Stevie Nicks.

  • I think Courtney Love gets such a bad rap, but in the end she really rocks hard. I enjoy Love. I also feel very lucky that I got to see the legendary Ms. Patti Smith at the WM3 benefit in Little Rock. I love women who show that we can rock just as hard as the boys can.

Bravo! Hole used to be pretty hardcore, and i think Live Through This is probably my favorite album of all time.I downloaded a bunch of Hole rarities years ago that would seriously blow people away. I'm so jealous you went to the WM3 benefit! I have met Patti, at one of her poetry readings and she signed a cd for me, but I've still never seen her perform. :(

Agreed! The woman has some great music, especially good to listen to when your angry. The woman no doubt has a few issues but don't we all? :?

    Nobody said Lita Ford? :|

(or should I just feel old?)

I love Janis, Heart, Stevie, PJ Harvey, Linda Perry, Shirley Manson, Mia Zapata...I can't pick just one!

    Thanks LouLou!

No female ever rocked harder than Joan Jett in my opinion. I'd go gay for her...I mean since I'm a female trapped in a man's body...er...wait...nevermind.

    Awesome. I think she's cool. ;)

I think it is mainly all the Kurt worshipers. Kurt and Courtney both had problems and were very co-dependent. I think it is completely unfair to hold him to one standard and her to another. They both were young, famous, and addicts with problems. I cannot believe that some actually think she had something to do with his death. If anything, she is a scape-goat. I think they would rather blame her than realize the extent of Kurt's issues. **Disclaimer: I like Kurt too, just get sick of all the conspiracy theories.
