One of their functions is to be on the ground when protest marches occur so that they can be in position to prevent violence from occurring. Was there racial violence in Sanford? Rioting? It may still be to come but as of now you are making baseless accusations.

(CNN) -- The George Zimmerman investigation was hijacked "in a number of ways" by outside forces, said the former police chief of Sanford, Florida.
Bill Lee, who testified Monday in Zimmerman's second-degree murder trial, told CNN's George Howell in an exclusive interview that he felt pressure from city officials to arrest Zimmerman to placate the public rather than as a matter of justice.
"It was (relayed) to me that they just wanted an arrest. They didn't care if it got dismissed later," he said. "You don't do that."
When Sanford police arrived on the scene on February 26, 2012, after Zimmerman fatally shot unarmed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, they conducted a "sound" investigation, and the evidence provided no probable cause to arrest Zimmerman at the scene, he said.0 -

Interesting that you stop there and neglect this little nugget. "It was a matter of protocol, Lee said. Arresting Zimmerman based on the evidence at hand would have been a violation of Zimmerman's Fourth Amendment rights, he said. Thus, the Sanford police presented a "capias request" to the state's attorney, asking that the prosecutor determine whether it was a "justifiable homicide," issue a warrant for arrest or present the case to a grand jury."
Probable cause for many charges, especially murder, is very rarely determined at the scene.

LOL
So, for the whole trial prosecution was pushing different charges than they do on the final day?
This trial is a JOKE0 -
Is anybody actually watching this live???
Judge wants a law that says something is legal before telling the jury it's legal?
Edit... Judge pretty much saying she's throwing the case in favor of the state so they can appeal because she doesn't want the pressure of GM's innocence. so obvious0 -

Do you think if this happened PRE-Stand your ground law, that it should still be a case for the courts?Pick up my debut novel here on amazon: Jonny Bails Floatin (in paperback) (also available on Kindle for $2.99)0 -
The prosecution want to have the verdict based on child abuse on the last day of the trial.
Florida never disappoints.
They should just save taxpayers time and money and get a wheel of fortune with random judgements.Be Excellent To Each OtherParty On, Dudes!0 -

Not sure a backroom deal is even possible in a jury trial. Unless of course Zimmerman himself decides to cop a plea...___________________________________________
