Deuteronomy 22:28-29
28 If a man encounters a young woman, a virgin who is not engaged, takes hold of her and rapes her, and they are discovered, 29 the man who raped her must give the young woman’s father 50 silver shekels, and she must become his wife because he violated her. He cannot divorce her as long as he lives.
again another reason a bible is a comedy act. a terribly sick joke at that.
do you need a hug buddy ? anything for a bro.
Godfather.
tell me you are not into the bible? please
on the hug...i just had two hugs just a bit ago from two old ladies over at the community center for a pot luck luncheon gathering. i am good on the hugs now for a week or so. but thank you, godfather

Yeah, that's the book I want to live my life by.
(and I went to Catholic School for 7 years - what a waste)

shit ... is that really in there ... ever more reason to not buy the shit they are selling ...
man-has not been-kind but cruel and hateful towards women for the longest time. basically since we started crawling the earth man has beat down femininity with his iron fist.
oneday women will take over the world. this is a fact and i hope and pray it happens tomorrow morning while i am waking up.
a man who harms a flower is not decent
he is poison and disgust
torturous and despicable
what a man is supposed to do is love, nuture, protect and worship women. women are incredibly strong and very capable of doing unbelievable things as they are brilliant
This is obviously ridiculous, as is somehow linking this to Santorum  (I know that wasn't you).
I just see a parallel with Santorum's beliefs, not really a link. People agree with Santorum, too, so I don't think American's should look down their nose too much.
Sad state of affairs when, as a man, this doesn't even offend me anymore.
edit: for those of you that are blown away by this story, read Half the Sky. If you can. I made it about 35% through before I had to stop reading it every night -- realized I wasn't able to fall asleep after because I was too pissed off.

Actually Santorum is speaking of a morally correct approach ...
yes far right but still based in a logical right from wrong
I would not call this topic, this story no where near being morally correct
no where near understanding...
basic right from wrong
they are so far apart the parallel is in another universe

So being forced to marry the rapist is 'nowhere near being morally correct', but being forced to have the rapists child is morally correct and logical? It's only morally correct to those who take a hardline, no abortions whatsoever, approach. Santorum's stance and what happened in the OP are pretty close, morally.

Bringing a life into this world is the morally correct choice, in my opinion.

Please stop talking about purple, because this is as crimson red as it gets.

I'm pro choice but against abortion as many here
please don't assume
How can you say you're pro-choice when you're saying Santorum is morally correct? Would you vote 'yes' on a state ballot measure banning all abortions?

No of course not ... I am pro choice
but feel that would be great to allow the States to choose instead of Federal law for all.
Let the people within in each state choose what is right for their state.
Might stop the endless stupid tug of war between the reds and blues
the endless hypocrisy.
In your example, I was saying not aborting the life, choosing life is the morally correct choice in my opinion ... it is a life we are speaking of.
