No. Obama's mother is not able to confer citizenship to her child, b/c the laws in Hawaii at the time stated that if only one parent is a citizen, then the parent has to have been so for at least 10 years, and for 5 years after the parents 16th birthday. Stanley-Ann was only 18 at the time of Barack's birth, so NO, she cannot, under the laws of the State of Hawaii at that time, transfer citizenship to her child.
Barack is not eligible under the laws of the Constitution to be President of the United States. Foreign-exchange student status is what he used to get into Harvard and Columbia, then began covering it up almost immediately, b/c as Breitbart's upcoming videos will show- Barack had set his sites on the White House a long, long time ago....

I've been saying the same thing. It would be OUR governmental system that failed NOT the current President. It's not when he was born or when he was at Harvard he would say I NEED to fake my birth certificate because one day I'm going to run and become POTUS. At this point we the USA would be the laughing stock and an embarassment of the entire planet. At this juncture we can't afford that we have way too many other problems to solve.
I'm sure though with no other course to turn to throw out this president I gather for some this is their only course of action, Otherwise he will get elected once again.

In 2008, people were tired. tired of bush. of his policies. of war and torture. of violence. of the types of policies that had been going on for 2 terms.
Obama ran on this vague notion that obviously touched a nerve with quite a few people. hope. change. what exactly that meant was never answered or elaborated on, and it was never meant to be. Did hope and change mean no more war? Did it mean a more militant foreign policy. did it mean a total overhaul of bushs policies or just a few changes here and there. what did it mean? the brilliance of the campaign was that obama could mean all this and more to everyone. hop and change was so vague that it could have meant absolutely anything to anyone. So left wingers who normally have no buisness in electoral politics, or centrist democrats like obama were caught up in this idea obama really did mean hope and change and this was something new and different.
thats how he got elected.
I think the more interesting issue is what i just decribed.
Its interesting to me so many could have been swayed and ultimately disillusioned by obama, when many folks, myself included refused to vote for him for precisely this reason, He was never what people assumed he was. He never was this antiwar, no war, liberal, left wing, progressive president. He never was. Nor will he ever be. Thats just not who he is. He's a centrist right democrat. He believes that democracy can be forced upon other nations through wars and bombs. and he believes torture is acceptable. his record on civil rights and racial issues could be the worst in history.
people far smarter and wiser than I were saying all this as well prior to the election. people thought obama was something he never was.
its disingenuous to assert the only reason obama is in 1600 penn avenue is that he stole the election through a coverup or lies. he ran one of the most successful and effective election campaigns in history. don draper would be proud. he won the advertising industry award for best campaign beating out apple computers. he was funded primarily by the financial industry. this is all well known. matt taibbi in rolling stone in the lead up to the election remarked "either obama really is what he says he is, a gamechanger, or he is a disturbing and frightening way the system continues to reinvent and manufacture itself". he was right.
The republicans currently are not able to win in the arena of ideas so they are resorting to the politics of personal destruction. Bill Clinton flew plane loads of cocaine into Arkansas, Hillary had Vince Foster murdered and his body dumped in a park, John McCain had illegitimate black children and John Kerry never honorably served in Vietnam.
Follow the money. Who paid for the 6 month investigation and 22,000 hours of investigative work? Ultra wealthy citizens able to donate to super pacs can also bankroll sheriffs and investigators. And didn't Donald Trump hire a private investigator? When does it end?
Until there is a House appointed special investigator who finds enough evidence for the House to begin impeachment proceedings and the Senate to convict President Obama and remove him from office, I'm not buying it. Sorry, I think the Birthers are wrong.
The larger and more important scandal that is winding its way through the courts and I'm sure has Bush, Cheney and Rove looking over their shoulders is the lawsuit brought forth by families of the 9/11 victims who didn't accept the settlement and are suing the Saudi Royal family for complicity in the attacks and the allegation that the Bush Administration covered up Saudi Royal Family complicity. Read up on that if you want a real barnburner.

I am informed on a lot of things that people call crazy. I didn't call people looking into it crazy, I said this is the kind of thing that makes people think conservatives are crazy...
Do you believe in any of the truther arguments? they are equally "unproven" conjecture, do you think they have merit or do you dismiss them?
Also, the fact that he was born in Hawaii...yeah, that makes him a citizen. Is there proof he wasn't born in Hawaii? is there any proof? a birth anouncement in the home country of his father doesn't count. I want proof. If not, whether his mother was 15,16,17...none of that matters. He was a us citizen the minute he was born in Hawaii...Until someone wants to prove he was born in another country, it doesn't matter to me. Like I said, there are so many other things that this country needs to worry about. Obama's origin just shouldn't be tops on the list. Like I said, this kind of thing is what makes people equate conservative to crazy.
You can list all the hawaiian state law you would like...ultimately if you have a US mother you are a US citizen in my interpretation of the laws. Changing that stipulation simply because of the AGE of the mother seems as though it is discrimination and would have been struck down on a legal challenge...come on...we have better things to do...why not investigate the theory that the president only needs international approval for military action to be ok?

Why, of all the things to focus on that are negative in regards to this president's policies and continuation of past president's dumb ass policies...He won the election...election boards believe he was born in the United States and I believe you are innocent until proven guilty.
Pragmatically this isn't an argument worth having...he IS president, and he WILL be eligible to run for re-election...Concede this point and move on...during an election season the court of public opinion is more important than proving anything in regards to birth certificate forgeries. No matter the proof of this document...until you can PROVE he wasn't born in Hawaii you have no argument, prove that and move on.
Look up Barry Goldwater 1964...do you believe he should have been eligible?
