"blackout weaves its way through the city..." was written well before the NE Blackouts

on the vitalogy sleeve it says something like "boila bush" which is mexican or something for '"something" bush' ....and he wasn't even governor of texas yet!!!!

    that dude is clairvoyant

oh yeah ... don't forget jeremy ....then the wm3 iced those kids

    spooky

Trying to decide if this entire post is a joke or not. If it is, it's not a very good one. If it's not, you need to educate yourself on a lot of different topics and on a lot of different levels.

It was not widely reported, if at all, that there were questions surrounding the friendly fire death of Pat Tillman. It became clear that there was a massive cover up after Pearl Jam was released.

How and why did Ed know to pick Pat Tillman as an example of how fucked up the USA government was with this war?

Yeah, I remember this line being about Pat Tillman too. Just so someone else has your back. And no, I'm not going to scour the internet for the proof.

My memory timeline was that the song came out after Tillman's death (NFL football star killed in Afghanistan was a big story too) and even if the friendly fire story and coverup came later I can imagine EdVed being bummed out and writing about it.

I am 100% convinced that line in WWS is about Tillman until it is proven otherwise.
  • so in summary...

it was about Tillman dying (which was a pretty big story at the time), but makes no mention of friendly fire or cover up. that wasnt out yet and wasnt the purpose of the song.

The song doesn't mention it but the friendly fire cover up info was allready out there.
