I totally agree. The night had so much variety, it was indeed a night to remember. Thomas young out on stage with the songs that were played definatley brought a slight tear to my eye. I am being honest. When Ed got down on his knees and hugged him, kissed him on the cheek, then stood up just wiping his face was priceless. I am glad that type of emotion came out of me. It's been a long time.

I totally agree! Some people enjoy shows in different ways! You don't have to sing along to every song.
I agree with the post I am responding to. Here is my two cents to whom you responded to. I love PJ and Eddie, I am not going to get in this heated discussion of who likes them better. I will tell you that my life is very significant and PJ / Eddie play a huge role. Once and a while I will start jumping or rocking back and forth or nodding my head. But honestly most of the time I will not move one muscle because I am focused on the band and every note, and every movement and I am in my own little world of happiness. So Fuck Off if you are sitting behind me and on your way home you fell like you have tell people that the guy in front of me doesn't desreve those seats becuase he wasn't singing. Fuck You. You have no idea.

one of the best crowds i have ever been a part off...the chicago crowd really redeemed Ed's faith in us as fans after the disaster in Milwaukee and if you were in attendance in Chicago, Ed made it clear that it was bad

anyway thats not the whole point...the crowds energy and respect given to Ed from the crowd during his setlist was something other shows should have followed...yes there were people shouting out, but nothing that i would have considered annoying, or at least even affected Ed at all

also what makes this show special was Ed bringing out Thomas Young during "No More", while im not a fan of the song it was emotional seeing him there and the crowd giving him a standing ovation was priceless and classy...i agree he doesnt look good at all right now and that is sorry to see...Ed playing "Hurt" also was something i personally have never heard him do, which was special too....ARC was amazing, something you have to see to believe

i just got back from Chicago and i was wondering if i would still think greatly about the show the next day and i personally believed all of those in attendance witnessed a special show...Ed could feel the energy of the crowd and played off it all night, you could tell he didnt want to leave

sorry east coasters and toronto i think the midwest got you beat this time ;)
The mid-west always has them beat, they just will not acknowlege it.

Anyway, my real point was it's fine if you don't want to sing along to every song, trust me I do not sing to elderly woman or better man anymore either, but when it is a song that has a specific call and response with the audience and when there's the crippled inspiration of the song 20 ft in front of you and you stand there tight lipped, not moving etc I found it amazing you would not join in with the rest of the crowd WHEN YOU"RE GOING TO MULTIPLE SHOWS AND ON THIS BOARD AND MOST LIKELY IN THE FAN CLUB! If they were casual fans I would not have had the issue.

    That was my point.

Maybe you had to be there to understand with the emotion of the moment etc. It just stood out how apathetic the folks were who were clearly multi-show goers. That's why I wanted to bring it up here. To get a debate. Some people here clearly think its perfectly fine to stand still during a show and I'm not talking during the sit-down songs when we were all sitting down of course. Now I know. I wondered how many people felt like me about it though. Perfectly legitimate of me to bring it up IMO.

When I went and saw Pearl Jam in London the place was insane compared to a U.S. show. Even Lolla was nuts compared to the UC shows the past few tours (Riot Act and Avocado).

To me personally, if you're not into it at some point of the night (these folks were duds the entire show) there's something wrong with you.
your opinion here. This is a perfect example of some thoughts are better left unsaid and kept to oneself.

The east coast band wagon is a wagon of people whom most think that they get the best shows or PJ loves them more then any other place in the world. They are the ones who continually come on this board and say that PJ by far played the better shows of the tour here. (on the east coast.) I apologize if I have you wrong, but the band wagon does exist and it is rather sickening.

People are desperate to feel special and better than others - it's only been made exponentially worse since this whole internet fad has caught on. They want to feel like their experience somehow transcended everyone else's. And I doubt it's too far a reach to guess they're the same people with the unenthused faces full of entitlement in the front rows at every damned one of the 35 or so PJ shows I've ever been to.

Anyway, in less retarded news, I heard a recording of Hurt surfaced. Anyone seen it?

and this is why I don't post here anymore. I was really open about my opinion. I like the guys response who said he's in his own little world. That made sense. Then he went and told me to fuck myself. That was lovely.

I understand. I'm sure that a lot of people in the 10C seats were given those "special tickets" to the 10C area and had no idea what was going on. I know in the shows that I went to, they were giving out tickets to the first three rows that had shitty sits to begin with.

    Ooooooooooooookkkkkaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy.
  • In 9+ years of being a member of this little community, this has to be the saddest fanview thread I've ever read.

it's the US vs Canada vs East Coast vs West Coast vs Midwest vs To Sing vs Not To Sing vs To Dance vs Not To Dance

    :(

no wonder Ed became a pirate and started making people walk the plank.
  • I gotta agree with the fact this has turned into a real crappy FANVIEW. I came on here to hear the ten clubbers experiences and how EDDIE VEDDER made you all feel and some stories about you time going to see our favorite front man. I could careless where the best show has been played. I went to 2 on the East Coast but EASILY woulda gave one up to see No more last night with T. Young. So can we stop the 3rd grade bickering and talk quality of music and entertainment for maybe just a couple posts?

  • Enough of the drama and heavy handed opinions. I think we can all agree that "we" all love the band and our own small personal experiences that we have had with seeing the band/EV. So this "East Coast", "West Cost", "Real Fan", "Fake Fan" shit is getting ridiculous. If we were not true fans fans we wouldn't be on this board talking about the shit. But lets all stop and smell the jam for a minute......... We are extremely lucky to have a band that means so much to so many, in a time of a commercial horse-shit music industry filled with one hit wonders! That, by the way, tour once every three years and put an album out every four. We as fans should be so appreciative to be able to enjoy PJ/EV right now, for it will not last forever. There are not many bands that stand for anything, much less appeal to so many people as PJ/EV does. My daughter is four years old and I let her listen with PJ in the car with me and she bobs her little head back and forth, smiles and loves it. It makes he happy too. I can only hope that one day when my daughter is older there will still be a PJ out there for her to see. I just can't wait to take her.................
