I hate to ask but...any predictions for the top spots at the polls ? I know it's a wild race and anything can happen but you seem to be on top of all this .

10% of the votes were democrats. 50% of them voted for Santorum. My math says that's 5% of the vote that is picking the guy they want to face in november...which is actually an anti-vote.
Romney did not need a knock out punch, that is crazy. He just needs to keep winning. He's going to get it done.
I'll bet you $10,000 Mitt's the nominee."You can tell the greatness of a man by what makes him angry." - Lincoln

I completely disagree with you. The Vice President has such a minuscule amount of say and trust me, I have studied this. It's really up to the President how involved he wants his VP and I personally do not see Romney giving Paul much of a say in anything. It's a huge loss of status and say especially if you are a tenured Senator.
ha ha ha... I guess that's why so many Senators have taken the VP position. No offense, but I don't care whether you studied it or not. It's without a doubt not a loss of status. That's hysterical.
Anyway, I remember hearing a lot of folks say Cheney ran the White House.
It certainly is. Biden was very hesitant to take the office, " fearing that he would suffer a loss in status, and in voice, from his role as a Senate baron".
Cheney ran the white house because Bush let him. That's partially why we had the tragedy that was the Bush White House. Would you rather be a part of legislation or go to funerals? You get as much as the president gives.0 -
I think it would be a great move and a great fit and office for Ron Paul
his exit is soon, nice spot if you can't ever be the President
he would bring a whole bunch of votes and maybe a different voice to the White House
don't the wives get along famously too?0 -

Vice President is President of the Senate. Biden took the job, I don't care if he said he was hesitant or not. He took it. No offense, but your argument there is pretty naive.
I agree with your latter point that the VP is constrained by the President's will, but nonetheless, the VP is there, present and in the conversation on policy. That's all Paul really wants. He wants to influence the party's platform. He could do a lot more of that by being VP then Senator.
The truth is, there's a large portion of people who wouldn't want Romney or Paul to do this simply because they don't want Obama to lose. A Romney/Paul ticket would steal a lot of liberal/moderate votes, and move the Republican ticket to the center.
All that said, I'd prefer Paul wins the nomination and chooses his own VP. But, I'd definitely support any ticket with Paul. Here's a new demo called "in the fire":

this is funny...rather than debate the positive merits of Mittens(I'm guess there are some, the only one I'm aware of is "he's not O-bama") folks are focused on the infallible Dr. P as is VP...0 -
Mitt is more middle more center so that's a fit for me but his speeches so far haven't
tugged, tugged at my heart, same for his presence.
Obama always has that tug going on ... was he groomed for that tug?
It's the tug that will get him back in ... my opinion
But that's where Ron comes in ... his got tug too big time and just makes one smile
When Romney/ Paul were together at one point on TV they looked right
I think they were ganging up on someone ...double teaming them

Godfather.
this race seems to be a little more ..sticky and competive in a way than I remember in the past elections.
thanks for the reply Gimmi.

I admire your choice for the office, I'm also a Paul supporter and I understand he would be there and would be a voice (Maybe). With Romney? I just don't see him getting to use it much and that's just my thought. I think you are a little ignorant as to what president of the senate entitles you. You get to vote if there is a tie. Ties are incredibly rare. The modern VP rarely even presides over the Senate. He can influence legislation, I guess. Doesn't mean the Senators would listen to him. A lot of people don't even know who Joe Biden is.
Thanks for the input.0 -

I get that he may not get too much say, but I think Romney would throw him a bone here or there, which would certainly impact policy more than his singular vote in the Senate. That's my point. I do understand the role of the President of the Senate. I just think he'd have more power with policy as VP, then his single vote in the Senate. In fact, a prominent role, like VP, for a man who's basically a libertarian could alter the party's trajectory entirely. In my opinion, that's what he aims to do.Here's a new demo called "in the fire":
