I know I'm one of a few here that like that Columbus poster, but I absolutely love it.
I do agree that Indy the next night sucked, but I still bought the damn thing.

The b&w "Eddie Leaning" poster will always be my favorite (though it's not a concert poster obviously - they're everywhere and cost $6! I don't think the copyright has ever even been with PJ? Not some great work of art, but it is an amazing photo, and I'm super into photography). It was our centre piece in this fantastic dumpy shit hole of a house with 5 roommates in university. That poster will always have a special place in my heart for me!... The poster is long gone though, destroyed during our last epic keg party in that house, lol, somewhere around 1998. I am definitely going to get another though, and frame it like a grown up this time.
There are no best & worst. Art is a matter of taste/opinion. For exaplme, I don't get the MSG Kong poster, but everyone else seems to love it.
agreed...it sucks....but it was NYC, so you know how that goes

There are best and worst in individuals' opinions. That's what we're talking about here, isn't it? ... But when did saying you didn't personally like a work of art become unacceptable? I'm okay with expressing my opinion about art (and everything else)! If someone declares art to be horrible, yes they're critiquing it, but no matter how it's phrased, they can't dictate to anyone else whether or not they are going to like it. I dunno... sometimes I just think people take criticism of art a little too seriously.

the moose playing the violin from 9/11/11 is awesome and the next nite 9/12/11 was a complete disaster!!
I was just going to say the same thing, glad I read the whole thread first. I couldn't agree more! Have the 9/11 one framed, and didn't bother buying the 9/12 eyesore. But I'm not really a PJ poster collector, so what do I know... awesome shows though!
"I know I was born and I know that I'll die...the in between is mine"
Wanna cry? I actually have this one, signed by the entire band (including Boom). It was PJ's contribution to the silent auction at Bonnaroo in 2008. I actually came in third on the bidding, but the first two people didn't respond to the phone calls that they'd won, so I got it by default. Can't believe what I spent, but she is my pride and joy.
Ironically, probably my least favorite of the ones I own (and I own the aforementioned Indy 2010, so keep that in mind as a benchmark) is the Bonnaroo 2008 poster. Don't have a photo to upload right now, but it just underwhelmed me--for such a big event (and my favorite of the seven shows I've attended, including PJ20), it just seemed to be not enough. Too much white space, too simple a design: a rudimentary blue skull with Elvis hair and a centipede crawling through the eye and mouth.
On a side note, re: Speedy's repeated assertions that Cincy 2006 was horrible, what's the reason for that diagnosis? PM me if you'd like, as I get the impression everybody else has heard your opinion on this, and besides, I don't want to derail a thread to a completely different topic. But I quite enjoyed that show, and I've always wondered what your beef was with it. (Again, I'm coming from a perspective of single-digit PJ concert attendance, so I'm not as concerned with setlist variety, etc.)
There are no best & worst. Art is a matter of taste. For exaplme, I don't get the MSG Kong poster, but everyone else seems to love it.
Me neither but boy am I glad I grabbed one Epic show!!
My favourite so far, Sperry Sao Paulo. Hoping to score one through 10C!
LUCKY GIRL! I hope you get one Thursday
Lol. I'm really glad you like that. I think it looks like one of those velvet painting things from the flea market, lol. Good thing such diverse posters are made, considering the diverse tastes of the fans!

Looking at the posters that were done for the shows I've been I'm not thrilled with them. 2 I like. (Wembley '07 and Manchester '09 - didn't like it at first, regret not buying it now)

It's actually my favorite. Wish I had got one when I was there.
Crazy frigging story about this one. So I was sharing a ten club ticket with some random member on the boards. I was waiting outside the venue forever for this dude to show up. I kept calling him and he said that he was still trying to get to the venue, finally like right before the opening act he says he's here. Well, he was a liar because I saw him walking around the whole time, but didn't know it was him. Well, he actually won the lottery, so wanted to make sure his buddy picked up his tickets and they would take the best pair, which I get, I guess. Well, I was sharing tickets with get_right for a future show and he had an extra ticket that was probably going to be much better than what the guy I was sharing with was going to get, so I figured I'd sell my extra. Well, long story short (too late!) I only got like $20 or so for the extra ticket and then by the time I got in all the posters were sold out except for one stand that I finally found. So I got talking to the guy and his girlfriend and he told me that when he made it to the front of the line, he would grab one for me. Lucky he did, because we got the last two!! So I probably got the last poster sold that night. It was such a stressful deal, but was so happy to get one at face value. 10C never did have a sale for that poster if I remember right.
I am not the biggest fan of it, but it fits really well with the Hampton from PJ 20 and plus, I gotta have one from all the shows I have been to.
