  • I'm sitting here enjoying the updates, but now I'm actually getting pissed off at some of these comments. Have you ever seen another band's show? Pearl Jam plays for 2 1/2 hours plus, usually 26-30 songs, and just because 8 or 10 of them are played regularly, people complain. Jesus Christ. Speaking of which, I'm hoping for Tremor Christ in July. Anyway, every show is different and they're about to play Leash. WTF more do you want.

  • I really don't want to be nasty here, but this seems to be quite a theme going on here in the Message Pit:

Maybe if you took a break from seeing them, let others have a chance, then maybe you wouldn't be so tired of hearing them live. I've only seen them once and if I see them 3 more times and they play all the same songs, that would be just fine by me!! It is a privilege to see Pearl Jam, not a right, so appreciate what they play, even if you have heard it a million times...

If you're bored of the songs, don't go to so many shows...

PS. Tonight's setlist looks real, and it's spectacular!!

as i made a point of in another post, the other problem is the fact that the big songs arent really my favorites, even if i only saw them once...period.
i understand everyone's point of pleasing of the average joe.
i was making the point as much about everyone on here getting so excited over anything as anything else.

Your post will be totally overlooked by those who don't want to hear it, but trust me a lot of us feel the same way. Nice post.

I'm glad they finally played Parachutes live.

It's a great song, but I really think the Beatles' version is better.

i know, i know. that's the really hard thing about seeing this band for me. i mean, when i was in chicago i had a terrible seat and i was next to a couple pj virgins who were just FLIPPING OUT when songs like even flow came on, so yeah, it's hard. i dont know. one of the toughest things is the fact that most of my favorites ARENT the big songs too. so even if i only saw them one in a blue moon small town and daughter, etc ARENT the songs that i would really really want to hear.
it's a tough balance. i'd just like to not be able to easily pick out 6 or 7 songs every night. maybe if you took that list of like 10 or so standards and kept it to 3-4 a night would be better? just a thought.
obviously i'm not complaining TOO much when i'll drive 6 hours (alone) to and from a show to see them...so take what i'm saying with a grain of salt.
i guess it just amazes me to see people (on here) get excited about a song like do the evolution...when it's played every night, that was sort of my original point.

no worries, man. i'm not going to get on your case. they have A LOT of songs they are ignoring from Riot Act(which i love)and Binaural(which i love). hopefully, they will understand these other songs need to be played too. i know that they can't play EVERYTHING, but it's nice to hear Evacuation. i know some people don't appreciate that song, but there are people like me who do. i've never heard Ghost and i'd love to hear that. so, here's hoping that they don't forget about these songs too...but i take what i can get...it's still the best show going. :)

Chuck if you could see how big my cell bill is gonna be from ME spreading the jam at my shows, you'd understand my mood.

I also understand the overwhelming excitement those in attendance felt and how one could forget...I'm gonna have this boot before the next time they play this so its not the same.

Maybe Pearl Jam should start doing what Rush does-no opening band and a three hour set, that would help us all out :-)
