  • I used to live in a small town like that on main road through town a few stores and everyone knows you drove down it. The high school graduating class was like 8 kids. I moved to the city where there is 2000 people in my incorporated town.

I have the freedom to light a huge bon-fire, crank up PJ to the max, and get laid all in my backyard. :D

I used to live somewhere like that too.It was the most wonderful place on earth. Our nearest neighbour was 1/2 mile away. Our house was secluded, surrounded by huge cedars. We were 2 hours drive from the next small town and 3 hours drive from the city.I was blissfully happy living so far from civilisation.

I now live in a town with current 2500 population but it is growing which makes me sad.Farm land is being sold to property developers and huge sprawling cookie cutter estates are being built.

:x :x That sucks. Development takes away the peace and quiet.
In my town there is a zoning law that prohibits more than one dwelling in each land parcel. Only one house is allowed in a ten acre plot. This helps , but depends on how the parcels are layed out.
In my area there is a Presidential Historic site that they are trying to keep it the way it was in the late 1800's. It is the homestead where President Calvin Coolidge grew up in. This helps stop development. :D
