I actually enjoy Billy Joel in the background when i'm working, not a fan at all at night or the weekends.
    Weird Huh?

Tonight i will be Drinking and Smoking, The Doors usually go well with that combo.

I'd never heard of him but it looks like he has good talent after reading his bio. Record producers had hopes of him getting as famous as Hendrix but it never happened. Just purchased Second Winter on amazon.

Second Winter is supposed to be the first ever three-sided LP. The producers didn't want to cut any of the tracks and the band had already left the studio, so they just burned two LP's and left the fourth side blank. I have high expectations for this album(s).

  • R.E.M. has been blowing my mind the past few weeks. Specifically Automatic For The People

Winter is a good choice, Godfather... Both of them actually.

they really change from album to album with a few consistencies mixed in. interesting band to say the least...

the album I am listening to is completely different than the others...in fact each one has a different "concept" ...cool shit to say the least...and there cellist is extremely attractive in person

any band named after a peter sellers movie has got to be good.

I heard some of his early stuff but it had too much of an 80's influence in it for me. I hear he is very talented.

I wish I could work while listening to music - but it strains my concentration.

Tonight I'm likely going same route as Binaural Jam (but non-music-wise). I've got a hankering for some old school shit - Sinatra, Miles, Cash, maybe a little Connick for good measure.

We'll see though -- I'll probably end up rockin out to the Doors too ;)

Ok y'all, get ready to laugh at me because if you don't, you're dumber than I am.

Last night my wife and watched "The Perfect Storm" (she hadn't seen it yet). At one point the captain says "Let's fish!" and one of the crew members punches up "Tush" by ZZ Top. I always thought that song verged on having a little too much hot-rodding in it but in the context of the film it was like, great- perfect song.

Then we get to the credits at the end of the film and holy sh*t if that song title didn't stump me... I always thought it was "Touch"!

Will do! I'm not as familiar with Baker's work but I love Taj Mahal! I saw Taj Mahal and his excellent band in the early 70's at a big outdoor event in San Jose. They were amazing! Sounded much like what you can see and hear on their spot on The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus. Taj also played in the Blue Bell Building in Placerville which is now my wife's bookstore. When I go to work in the literature and nature sections today I'll remember I'm working on hallowed ground. :D
