My gmail was hacked from Spain. Not only did I change my password, but I enabled having gmail text me a passcode to my cell phone to access my email - and no more problems....so far.
Someone I think was in the email again today. :? Have switched most of the stuff I can remember to a new address. What a pain in the ass this is.
So now the same shit is happening with the new email address I set up. Guess it's time to get my computer checked out. :-x
Yeah, take her in. That's terrible man!
About a week or so before the email issue my computer was acting wacky so I have to believe it's something in there. I just never understood how people get their jollies from screwing with people like this.
Have you tried running malwarebytes? It's free (there's a pay version but you don't need it and it's not one of those fake protection programs that's really jsut a virus that keeps asking you to purchase it). I had a nasty virus on my PC and McAfee was worthless in getting rid of it (it didn't even acknowledge that it was there at all), so someone suggested this and it cleaned everything up real nice. I use Norton now but still run malwarebytes about once a week just to keep it updated and make sure nothing got past Norton. If there's a virus, it'll likely get rid of it.
I'm not sure why anyone would want to hack my email? Also, I have been signed up for a few things over the past month or so that I know I would not sign up for. :?
They do it so they can send spam from your email address to the addresses in your inbox, outbox and contact list. I use stopzilla. Its $40 a year and it catches everything (knock on wood).
