How are these better than the old SVxxx series bootlegs? I haven't tried any yet, do they files contain source info?
Unfortunately the files do not contain full source info.
The sound quality of these is superior to the SV series IMO (no offence to those involved with SV, they were pioneers at this!), as rather than just patching sources together, JWB has actually 'remastered' levels etc to improve the balance between instruments, low-end versus high-end and so forth. Have a listen for yourself!
Also, some of the SV shows did not use the best sources available (e.g. Melbourne 1998 used the post-FM source rather than the Sony Promo).
Thanks for the effort on these, I really love the old remasters of the definitive PJ shows.
It's easy to say your version is the best, but as someone who was minimally involved in the SV series I have to to listen to these to make the comparisons ... some people spent a lot of time tracking down the sources, comparing them to existing copies, and fixing them up. A lot of the SV series wasn't "remastered" because A) these were typically produced 03-06 where it was more difficult/expensive to do remasters Spaced and gang wanted to keep the recordings as true to the original recording as possible.
My perception going into these listens: SV's 4/3/94 is going to be hard to top, 11/3/96 did need some work (as did 3/17/95), 11/1/95 and 3/5/98 were perfect as they were, and 7/22/98 was infuriatingly thin.
Also, is there any way you can provide the source info? I maintain PJ's db.etree.org source list and it's sort of maddening without it.
In addition, I've never been convinced 11/5/93 is a soundboard, I simply think the taper was just really good and the silver bootleg was mislabeled from the start. I think the same person recorded 6/22/95 and 6/24/95 (same part of California) and both those shows sound great. I don't know, it's been a while since I've listened to that 93 show and the parts that were officially released from it are clouding my thoughts.
excellent, bookmarked the page, can't wait to here these.

I've downloaded and listened to a few of these and like you, I am happy with the versions I have of Melbourne 98, Berlin 96 (both promo versions) and Atlanta 94.
BUT, I can confirm that Seattle 98 sounds amazing in the version they've created here. It was always one of those shows that I loved listening to but was never quite happy with the 'SBD' sound of the boot. This version sounds much more full and punchy.
Good effort guys!

Hit the nail on the head there! I don't really see this collection as being 'in competition' with the SV series - they are both trying to do different things - diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks!

For final in the series, Seattle 1998, JWB has managed to bring this clean but rather thin-sounding recording up to a similar standard to Live On Two Legs (widely considered to be the gold standard in PJ live mixing/mastering )

Wow. I listened to Honolulu and Finsbury Park last night and they really are incredible.
Especially Finsbury Park. It's now up there in sound quality with Drop In The Park.
Truly awesome job on these to all those concerned. I'll definitely be checking them all out now!

Thanks so much for these! I've made it through 4 of the shows so far, and everything sounds fantastic. Especially glad to have the '94 Atlanta show, I still remember taping that one off the radio.
The Atlanta show - is there any difference between this one and the 3 disc Dissident release?

I too would love to see the sources / transfers info used in making the '12 Soundboard Remaster Series.
Without a source info these would be just listed over @ db.etree.org as ..

right?
I'll get in touch with JWB and see if he can provide more detailed source info.
