it was, my ears are still ringing, I just got back from the gorge. of the all the shows i have seen them play, this was by far the best. unbelievable.
Get some sleep and head up to vancouver.
There were 3 encores...just in case people don't know.
They went off stage after Porch I believe (it's been a long night).
Throughout the night Vedder was poking fun at Tom Petty...the crowd would chant (based on Eddie's lead): "Hellooooo Tom, Come Down Tom." Over and over again because Eddie said that Tom was staying at a nearby hotel (probably the Inn at the winery) and could hear us. When he played the Petty cover at the beginning of the second encore we all went nuts and sang along. Great moment. Amazing show. I don't follow the boards much so I don't know if they were filming at the Missoula show but they were at the Gorge. Had signs up all over the place saying that the concert was going to be recorded and filmed.
PJ went on stage @ 7:14pm. Finished the acoustic set around 8:02. Came back on stage @ 8:15 to start the electric set. Baba finished up @ 10:30pm.

Eddie had a few speeches throughout the night...mentioned a few times how his heart goes out to all of those in New Orleans...even the cops who arrested him (haha). Said that the band would be donating to the relief effort...probably a part of the Gorge sales would go as well.
Shared a story about Tom Petty which was really funny. Eddie shared how he carries around a suitcase often to carry things. Said that at one of the bridge school benefits when Petty was there, Petty noticed Eddie's briefcase and said "Eddie's going to entertain us with some ventriliquism." Said throughout the night (as others have pointed out) that it's taken the band a long time to come back to the Gorge and it may be a long time before they come back, so they were going to play throughout the night. Eddie also said (jokingly) that they were going to have to cancel the Vancouver gig because they were playing so long.
As far as filling in setlist holes...in my tired state I can't be too much of a help. I didn't recognize the cover if there was one.
Well that was an awesome setlist!!! Was Baba the last song for sure?
Baba was last.
The third encore was after the lights came up. After the second encore, (they ended with Blood) the band came back out while the lights came up. Went right into ylb. eddie was singing "I wanna stay" and then launched into baba, it was awesome.
had the the crowd sing the money part.
amazing show!!!! We got back to the parking lot after the show, and everyone we were with were just blown away.

Eddie kind of flubbed on the intro to daughter. He stopped and then said that Tom would not have made that mistake, "tom's a professional, he practices"
I have never posted before, but I'm a long time lurker (I know, I'm horrible). I too just got back from the show and had to comment as well. Just as the previous poster mentioned...this show was AMAZING! I've been to a lot of concerts, and seen Pearl Jam many times, and this was by far the best concert I've EVER been to. The guys sounded awesome, and the setlist was great.
They played their acoustic set to a beautiful sunset directly behind them. What a sight. I won't back down was by far one of the highlights for me. Eddie dedicated it to Cindy Sheehan - what a fitting song. The way Eddie carried on all night about Tom Petty, I half expected him to walk out on stage at some point. The electricity in the that place was just unbelievable tonight. The crowd was so loud (at least where I was) during Alive that you couldn't even hear Eddie for most of the song. What a great night!!!!

Wow....holy shit.....I was there and it was every bit of purely magical!!! Ed's voice was fucking right on!! Lyrically...well, he still Ed....but vocally....gawd damn that dudes got pipes! UN-FUCKING-DONE and HARD TO IMAGINE....holy shit...I can't I just heard those song played live....and they were brilliant!
Un effing Beleivable! The only things that I can add is that before Lowlight, Ed mentioned something about the sun setting on the horizon.
after Lowlight Ed said, "Jeff skateboarded from Montana to get here, I swam." then, tidle waves come crashing in leads into MOTH.
During "I Won't Back Down", ed changed the words to:
"Oh I know what's right. My son had, just one life. You can stand me up at the gates of hell, but I won't back down."
When they were talking about the devistation in the Gulf, he spoke a little about the shrub.
"...We spent a lot of time kinda with the people there (King's Hoist?)" one of the great American cities, it kind of helped write the songs. We just want to send this out to all the people who were... You got to raise a toast when you're able to enjoy yourselves like this. We'll get throught it. Perhaps were going to be donating some money from, probably even from this gig so uh. What Jeff and I were talking about earlier. I think the federal government should get off their asses and do something right now. That kind of frustrates me a lot... response" Couldn't here the rest, but the last words were to make money." into "I am mine."
When Ed said Tom had called and said he wouldn't be coming down, we all had to sing , "I'm sorry Tom." Later, he suggested that the overnight campers start singing it at 5am.
The improv song was I think about his daughter, and parenting and how your life changes, being ready, something about it. He laughed during it.
After every show I say it can't get any better, but it does. Then I think, "but how?" and oh yea, it's Pearl Jam! Thanks again!
I want to point out that people who seem to have no power, whether working people, people of color, or women -- once they organize and protest and create movements -- have a voice no government can suppress. Howard Zinn
not sure if it's been mentioned yet-
they were rolling real film last night (in addition to the usual 10C dv cameras).
i assumed it was for/by the band directly (not HOB, which own the venue) as there were at least 5 or 6 setups.
pearl jam coming to a movie theater near you?

Don't know the difference between film or whatever but "real film" sounds professional and professional=DVD!!!

I've seen stupid threads on RM before...I think some folks need to quit generalizing.
