I found Soundgarden - superunknown on Blue vinyl for £2 at a boot sale years and years ago.
It's in perfect condition and I just lost my mind at how cheap it was
I'm absolutely only ready to trade it for a PJ LP.
I checked out a stack of records a guy was selling. Picked up Yield, VS, and DMB Before these Crowded Streets from a guy for $100. I didnt even know how rare the DMB was at the time and it is near mint.
I traded my '96 Portugal poster for a sealed RVM lp. I felt pretty good about it too because I sent it to someone who was actually in Portugal. Glad it went to a good home!
About ten years ago my girlfriend got me the 91, 92, and 93 christmas singles for around $50 on e bay.
My best trade was Pat from Seattle giving me a free ticket to the 2nd night at east troy this past summer. In exchange he wanted a beer.
My personal best buy was purchasing the msg '98 poster at one of the three shows back in September of 98 for I'm guessing $20. This poster is now framed and hung up in my living room.
I missed out on buying a specific tshirt from the 2006 tour, and regretted it ever since. Anyway, that shirt became part of my holy grail, and I eventually decided to post about it on here to see if ANYONE happened to have one they'd be willing to part with. I was willing to pay a pretty penny, or trade something awesome for it.
Turns out, dimitrispearljam had one hanging out in his collection, and sent it to me for the AMAZING price of $0 . That's right....FREE  . I am still in awe of his generosity. Best gift EVER.
i have wished for so long, how i wish for you today...

My holy grail was the 2003 Council Bluffs poster. Kelly (GiventolukinKP) had one for sale on these boards. We set a price, and she hauled it from Chicago to Alpine last year during PJ20. Because it was already framed, she even brought it to my motel room on Friday before the preparty! Still loving it, and am ever so grateful to Kelly for going above and beyond to get this to me. It's hanging in my office, along with 2 of the PJ20 posters. If you see this, thanks again Kelly!!!

Got this for $125 (unframed, of course) about 5 months ago!
Now, I'm sure many will simply ask "How????" Well, the OP asked for a cool story, so here's mine.
I posted here on LD to see if anyone was looking to trade my Benny for this. Of course, no one replied, except for one board member who had this sitting in his closet and was looking to sell. The problem was that the lower right corner had torn off when he opened the tube, although he still had the torn piece. Turns out he lived in the town next to me, so we met at a mutual location and the transaction was complete. I took the poster to a restoration artist, who with some crafted skillsmenship, reattached the torn piece and made it look good as new. Even with the cost of the restoration, I still ended up paying a small fraction of what the poster commands in good condition.
I bought a toaster once at a yard sale for .50 cents ....
This guy was asking $4 for a toaster at a yard sale, however he wasn't sure if it worked... So I offered him .50 cents for it and I told him that I would take the risk on it. He agreed and we shook on it. When I got home I tested the toaster and it worked perfectly!! All it needed was a little cleaning and to tighten a lose screw. The toaster retails for about $12 at walmart... So I would say this was a heck of a score!
Introducing the Beatles on VeeJay records for .50 cents at Goodwill.
Here I'd have to say trading my OG copy of Tool Aenima for Lost Dogs.

My Binaural for the MSG Kong. Was Beginning to think I would never get one there for a second as they were all MIA for a little bit.
And also a few weeks ago I picked up a sealed Lost Dogs on the bay for $170...just came today and man does it feel good ripping off that 9 year old shrink wrap and spinning it.
I got a sealed Binaural from a local store for 20 euros and a sealed No Code and a sealed Yield for 12 euros each from another local store here in Athens. A sealed LO2L for 25 euros from a web shop from Italy. Down's Nola on LP for 13 euros from a third local store. That's all I can remember now, but there are more .
