I agree, just don't sing. Pay your respects and move on. Just don't embarrass yourself by singing one of her songs, save that for people who can pull it off.

It's just like the same way he butchered Billie Jean.

Perhaps CC was a huge fan, or had some connection to her....no one here really knows. If someone is embarrased by this, perhaps they shouldn't base their identity on the actions of a rock star! :D

The actual performance is what is lame. There are maybe a handful of people in the world that could possibly pull it off and Chris Cornell is not one of them. Terrible.

And some people don't think it was terrible or lame. So instead of sitting here acting bombastic, why don't you move on.

i don't see the problem with paying your respect to another musician even if you're not from the same genre or even a fan. she died, he did this tribute as a one time thing (i'm assuming). it wasn't about doing the best version of this song. it's about tribute. especially when he lost friends to drug abuse.

Cornell just posted a video, it's better but still AUD shot
  • I think you're all missing the fact that this song isn't even by Whitney Houston. She covered it, its a Dolly Parton song. If you really want to pay tribute, play one of her original songs, not cover a cover.
  • Instead of worrying about the SB, this is what worriers should be worried about. Really?

Yes. Great singer at one time. But certainly less important than.....LBC... Sorry Came on now. It's all very sad.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.
  • Sometimes I wonder why people can't just find the middle-ground... all he's done is cover a song. It's not the greatest thing on earth like some people are saying, and it's not a complete sell-out / joke like most others are saying. It's just a fucking cover song, in dedication to someone who just died, which let's be honest he's perfectly entitled to do regardless of what you thought of WH. Why do people get so carried away?!

Totally agree. Sometimes people look too much into things.
  • haters still hating...
