Say what you want about DMB's music

Some misinformation being spouted in this thread I thought I would correct:
Dave's tour dates run through the end of Labor Day week... not July.
The tour dates are almost evenly dispersed between weekend nights (Friday/Saturday) and weekday nights.
The dictionary.com definition of tour is different than the one being posted here.
The "ignore" feature works best for me when you don't quote the ignorance and force me to see it.0 -

I think the forum term is "troll". Some people just like confrontation and or a debate. I was just trying to vent my frustration as tickets go on sale for DMB on 3/9/12. I don't know what to do as the Pavilion will sell out and I don't want to sit on the lawn to see Dave and would much rather see PJ if they do tour the US. I come to this forum to have discussions with other music fans and not get into a pissing match on who's opinion or view is right or wrong. My advice is don't let him bait you. Hey maybe that's where the term "troll" comes from as reference to fishing?Springfield 4/6/94, Boston 4/6/94, Hartford 10/2/96, New York 9/11/98, Hartford 9/13/98, Mansfield 8/30/00, Boston 9/28/04, Reading 10/1/04, Quebec City 9/20/05, Boston 5/24/06, Hartford 5/13/06, New York 6/25/08, Hartford 6/27/08 Philadelphia 10/31/09, Hartford 10/15/10,

I agree ! I think it's tough that they only give you a few days between the announcement and the time to purchase tix0

There is honestly nothing you can do. You will probably have to decide before PJ announces a NA tour. If you really want to see PJ and travel in 2012 to see them and can't do both then I would bag DMB. If they are both equally important to you I would do the DMB travel because you know for sure that PJ will be playing in multiple locations within driving distance to CT and even places you could do short trips with like Philly depending how close to the weekend the show is.
Or you could do one of the Dave shows close to you and wait out the PJ trip. Of course you gamble on whether they would play the Gorge. If you really like DMB I would do the Gorge trip because it's guaranteed to be there and do a local closer trip for PJ.
I would think that if PJ is touring in the late summer in the US we will hear about it right around when those Dave tickets go on sale. There are also rumors of Ed playing dates in Europe in August which may postpone the PJ NA tour into the fall thus hearing about anything until April or May.Member 164xxx

Of course you don't. It isn't 1952 anymore. You can book a European vacation in a half an hour online and have a full itinerary.Member 164xxx

Well, I made my decision. Dave at Aaron's Amphitheatre at Lakewood on 5/22/12. I am trying to see a concert in each state and only have five states east of the Mississippi river and GA is one of them. I figured when I see a WA show it needs to be PJ as that is my band (my buddy is the DMB fan and we travel together to get the states done). This had more to do with having to make a decision before the Pavilion sold out then planning a trip in a definitive amount of time as I just saw OAR in Indy with five days of notice as I waited to see who was in the Superbowl.Springfield 4/6/94, Boston 4/6/94, Hartford 10/2/96, New York 9/11/98, Hartford 9/13/98, Mansfield 8/30/00, Boston 9/28/04, Reading 10/1/04, Quebec City 9/20/05, Boston 5/24/06, Hartford 5/13/06, New York 6/25/08, Hartford 6/27/08 Philadelphia 10/31/09, Hartford 10/15/10,

That does suck. I would pretty pissed if I lived in Memphis and already made plans to travel for a show. It's one thing to add another show in a city, but pretty brutal adding a new city after the fact.0 -

How great would it be if we could count on a PJ tour every year like DMB does?0 -

I've seen PJ 7 out of the last 9 years with a 4 straight year going. Hoping to make it 5 straight sometime this year.Member 164xxx
